Arms are one of the things I add later, since they overlap parts of the torso, or I add them in via code.
I thought it was for adding the speed lines/motion blur/whatever we settled on calling it separately?

As for the palette you see in a lot of my stuff: It's from a game I am/was/maybe working on. I'm working on expanding the game's aesthetic but i'm also being as safe as possible trying to preserve atmosphere.

So I thought you guys might fancy this a bit more. Has more contrast than my usual pieces and I expanded the palette as well. Feedback is always appreciated.

So apparently, being an "expert" on galaxies and astro sci-fi, (or maybe just my abnormal interest in space and an introvert nature reading sci fi novels), I was asked to draw what I believed a Martian would have looked like ages ago when the planet could have supported life.

I assure you every pixel was placed with precision and love

I like this one. I made it in MS paint.

Did another one in MS paint, loading screen with my game's hero

^ Kinda weird looking martian. The red stripes on his chest reminds me of Martian Manhunter's outfit a bit.

I love that loading screen. I think the two tufts of hair from her head are too thick, and should be toward the center of the back of her head, rather than the edge, but it's pretty solid!

C reads best, I don't know of there's a point to having blocks that look exactly like walkable blocks but faded if you can differentiate between them more anyway. The tiny bridge segments need to be lighter. Nice pixels c:

A for character standout
B for block standout
C for overall color quality
D for all of the above if it had a darker bg and tower light

C is most readable, I think. I think I'd like D with a dark background, though.

For me it's B. They should all be used as levels in your game though.

I like B, it seems more somber and less cartoony, depends what you are going for though

the pixel art is fine, just keep at it

i went a little overboard with my paint over because the composition was so fun to play around with

the big thing was correcting the perspective of the foreground. it's below the horizon line, so instead of seeing it straight on, you'd see the top of the dock and the grassy cliff it connects to. when the sun is hanging this low in the background, there will be a lot of high contrast shadows. also, water reflects most of the color of the sky above it.

the rest of the stuff i did was just a little love letter to your piece. keep up the good work

You rock! I'm adjusting the loading screen- (And C looks pretty good.)

Have a martian chemist! Oh the power of Martian chemistry.

Do these walk cycles look right to you? I'm not 100% sure, especially the second one - shield and standard moving in the right direction?

C is most readable. It's still pretty unreadable in case of foreground-background contrast. Maybe less colours in background than forground might work for your style?
