Frankforce, looks nice and smooth as well! I'm not so keen on the square head of the player character though.

Sometimes random phrases come to me that I think would make for great story ideas, or songs, or whatever... and thanks to twitter and facebook I tend to post them for people to riff on or whatever whatever... but now that I am getting into game development, I find myself being attracted to the idea of taking those phrases and turning them into pixel art / video game vignettes... so this is my first go at that...



... and below is some of the misc. sprites I've experimented with in the past few months as I take my first baby steps towards doing more serious animation and game design. Smiley

The low legibility of the tiny font brings it down a bit. Consider doubling the resolution.

Same. The colors also remind me a lot of Lois from Family Guy. xD
Nevertheless I am quite intrigued to see where this goes.

Thanks, it is like that on purpose though, the name of the game is SQUAREsville. Also from a design perspective to make the player more visible on tiny Sifteo cubes I tried to fill up the space as much as possible. The other NPCs in the game will not have square heads, I will post some soon.

The tail looks pretty weak compared to the rest. The tooth looks weird too.

Not exactly pixel art, but here are some sprite designs I'm working on for a beat-em-up game idea I have.



this last one is a simple combo string that ends with an energy blast I have yet to add (along with the lighting/shadows).

The second and eighth sets catch my eye best. It must be those highlights/accents on the tops of the bricks contrasted with the darker colors.

The least usable one? That would be either bottom rightmost sets. Overuse of black makes it hard to tell wall from floor.

But I like the darker walls with the bluer floors, or the brighter walls with the grayer floor. 8th, or 9th.
