The big issue with the face was that it had very little form/depth, mainly due to the lightsource.

I added some darkness to one side(right [edited]) and after that threw in some blue light (atmospheric) coming from that direction. The eyes had very little depth - they're essentially globes with a highly reflective surface, so I darkened the whites gradually and added highlights by the irises.

The upper lips are generally darker than the lower lips, with the darkest part being closer to the mouth. I wouldn't say my little overpaint is finished, but hopefully it'll get you an idea of how to take your paintings to a higher level of polish

Since she's looking straight into the camera I figured a mirroring of one eye, minus the eyeball would fix some things. Also smoothed a lot of JWK5's surfaces to make her feel younger.

@JWK5: how does one learn how to render skin so well, all those color variations, etc. please tell me 

In this particular case I worked in the cyan-blue of the ambient background color into the shaded areas and a bight warm saturated orange into the light areas (the warmth gives the skin a little more vitality).

On the lips, areas around the eyes, the nose, etc. I've worked in more reddish colors since those areas tend to have strong groupings of blood vessels (it also helps draw attention to them). I've also worked a bit of pinkish color into the midtones to give a little more depth (and contrast better with the cyan-blue shading).

You can see in the eyes I've worked in a little red, and various parts of the face and hair I've worked in a little green, and little bits of cyan-blue here and there. This all serves to both add impact and balance. If you use a color in large portions over here you always want to try to work in a little over there, it really helps tie everything together.

I've seen posts exactly like this on game design forums probably hundreds of times, going back over a decade. Not one of those hundreds of people ever finished their game.
