A list of hotseat (offline multiplayer) games http://www.pixelprospector.com/tag/hotseat/ from the PixelProspector.

For those who are planning on using Construct, here's a tutorial that shows how to add online functionality to your game.

Anyone have a tutorial for adding gamepad support to game-maker games? i know there's something in the help guide of the program, but it isn't helping me at all since it just says the functions. Droop

Husky! Hand Thumbs Up Left

Boxedlunch, have you had a browse on the YoyoGames forums? Maybe there is something to help you on there. That's all i can think of at the moment however.

husky is kind of annoying, i recommend moletrap and diggity instead:

http://www.youtube.com/user/moletrapSC2
http://www.youtube.com/user/diggitysc

they were the two people (along with klazart) who really got professional starcraft english commentary going, and i still think they're the best at it

if you like sc1 commentary rather than sc2, also see moletrap's original channel:

i finally found a pretty simple gamepad tutorial for game maker for anybody who needs it.
it doesn't teach how to use buttons but it teaches the basics pretty well.

Most people include Joy2Key when they want to use gamepads. GM's a bit broken like that.

So on the topic of competitive games, then; I'm making an asymmetric multiplayer game, and I know some others have gone down this route. What do you think that means for the feel of the game? Even if balanced, both roles will feel fundamentally different.
