Things I Did Today:

Spruced up the introduction sequence (now the game doesn't just throw you into the world)
Started up an explanation and hint system (cuz the game is way too confusing for someone to just pick up and play)
Gave players more ammo
Made turrets stronger
Art Assets (a lot)

After having put the game in front of my little sister, I realize there's a lot of work I need to put in to make the game more.... accessible. On top of that, there's a layer of polish that is simply lacking... I need to get on fixing that.

I agree about the accessibility; last version of the game I played, I dropped out of the ship and then couldn't figure out how to get back up into it. Of course, I didn't read the directions or anything, so that might've had something to do with it.

Also, I may have to revoke my earlier 1-on-1 people-who-missed-the-deadline versus-challenge, since with school I'm finding I don't have that much time for halfheartedly coding stuff after a deadline has already passed Sad

AI Director sounds cool.

How will the players determine who "gets" the food to survive? Do they have to kill each other at some point.. and it's just a question of when?

Your food mechanic makes me think of something like...
"we both score points and put them into a pool"
"we can extract those points for strength(level ups, or more health)"
"we earn interest on our points saved, so if we extract too early we won't have enough for later on"
+skill mechanics of maximizing our current strength. Maybe you can choose to eat food to get a speed/health/strength bonus?
