I have registered here just to comment to you, skofo.

The sound delay in linux is probably not flash's fault. I've also had that issue drive me nuts and when I uninstalled pulseaudio (I'm using ubuntu 10.10), the delay went away.

My personal favorite for as3 coding is geany, since it supports actionscript highlighting out of the box and has neat features like browsing by functions and collapsible comment blocks. Plus a built-in terminal makes it easy to keep my screen tidy.

I tried that; didn't help. Tongue Alas, I moved back to Windows for now, so it's not a problem for me anymore.
