I think that seeing as how 8BF has only been online for about 2 days now it was somewhat of a risky proposition to begin with.
Despite the technical issues I don't regret using it. I don't know if Kickstarter would have been a better or worse option- it's the classic fish & ponds of various relative dimensions situation.
Kickstarter obviously works well for some people (like that $31k IF dude) but I think that in the long run we're better off having our own site dedicated to indie games. The technical issues will in most likelihood eventually be resolved as well.
Glad to hear they've identified the problems with the site. Similarly, a little more transparency on the front of the site would be good when it gets fixed. Shame that it launched in an unfinished and unprofessional state, but at least Geoff is being straightforward with the topic.
My thoughts exactly.
