I started a Tumblr today, and I'm looking for submissions! http://gamestorm.tumblr.comSubmit at: http://gamestorm.tumblr.com/submitA collection of doodles, sketches, and scrap-paper designs by game developers around the world!Game developers love brainstorming: they brainstorm on notepads, whiteboards, in Photoshop, and sometimes many of them at once on a single sheet. They make calculations, lay out interfaces, doodle character designs, and collect their thoughts. Unfortunately, these glorious scraps almost always get thrown away, and rarely get looked at again. This is a creative museum where I collect and share the best of these scraps, to both preserve them and let them inspire others. SUBMIT YOURS!Submit your own game design sketches, doodles, or brainstorms! If you want an idea of what you can/should submit, here are some suggestions: - Notepad/looseleaf/napkin sketches are great! Either take a photo or scan them and send them our way.
- Blackboard/whiteboard sketches are golden, because they never last long, and should be preserved!
- If you brainstorm/sketch in photoshop, paint, or in your art tool of choice instead of on paper, those are accepted as well!
- Problem-solving brainstorms are encouraged, such as trying to figure out an algorithm, pathfinding, or math problems. These always inspire, and also look insane!
- When submitting, give as much context as you can to the post. Tell us where it happened, who did it, and what it was for. If I find it more effective/humorous to post it and leave this info out, I will do so, but when submitting please give me as much of this info as you can!
Requirements:- Your name (real or preferred online handle).
- Link to your website/portfolio/blog/twitter/etc. so people can see your games/etc.
- Your country of origin, and hometown if possible (unless you are uncomfortable sharing that info). I like to post this with the sketches so people get a nice sense of game development scope.
I've already got a couple dozen submissions waiting in the queue, so there's a lot more to come. I will post one or two daily, so if you submit one, it may take a few days before it appears, depending on how large my backlog is at the time. Thanks!

A lovely submission by the friendly Farbs today Module designs from Captain Forever, Successor, and Jameson (left to right). Oh, and a hidden flux capacitor! The bit in the top left is what I used to hard code the original command module (the red middle bit with the heart), though I reduced the tail wedge slightly after it was in game.

Do it. Also, feel free to submit multiple; just remember, if you have a bunch that are really similar or for the same project, submit them all in one post.

Looks very promising, I didn't know that (most) developers threw their development notes after used. That's really sad.

It's too bad I lost all of my game ideas. I had 3 grid paper notebooks stuffed with level designs, psuedocode snippets, and other cool doodles. I'd look for 'em but my house is a mess.

I generally horde stuff that I think looks cool, so I've quite a bit of stuff that might be appropriate; I'll dump some doodles on you next month when I'm back home.

I never throw any of my notes away. I have quite the stack of notebooks lying on the floor of the office. I keep meaning to organise them, but whenever I do I just keep coming up with more stuff

This is an awesome idea! It's great to see how some of the ideas turned into real games and how they got started.
