whats everybody else thinking about it?

it's cool but the swinging mechanics were not just fucked up, but fucked up for no reason. the controls are less pleasing, less precise, and require more button presses than before to do the simple tasks you do in a nes game.

also the writing is bad. other than that i like it.

the little cut scenes are pretty annoying

"hey you unlocked a door! forget about all the shit going on, let's watch it open reeealy slowly!"

that and the game feels really easy. I hope there's a super hard option somewhere

I still hate that redesign. Rearmed 1's Spencer was simple and effectively badass. I don't need me a mustachioed vegeta.

I have heard this is disappointing, but it's not going down in price so I may as well buy it  Shrug

The controls are pretty jacked. You can't shoot your arm straight unless you are crouched or falling. The addition of the jump button doesn't add anything to the level design and the swinging feels more off than the previous Rearmed did. I shoulda tried the demo before buying it.

Huh?

I don't understand this control decision at all. Is there some reason for it?

Didn't BCR make you unable to shoot your arm straight unless you were crouched?

are you sure there will be a PC version?

even if it doesn't come to PC, after hearing so many disappointed reviews I don't think I'll mind that I may be missing out on it.

If there is eventually a PC version there's a chance they might fix the controls or include a 'classic mode'. I'll buy it if they do.

There is a PC version coming, and when BCR came out on PC they fixed a bunch of niggling issues with the swinging mechanics. I trust they'll do the same here.

call me a heretic but i don't really have a problem with the controls at all. they were hard to get used to at first but i'm pretty used to them now. some reviews cite "frustration" at the controls which is funny since it's still really easy to navigate the stages with them no problem. not being able to shoot the claw forward while standing is dumb but the ability to be able to do so was largely useless anyway. unless you REALLY liked to block bullets and not bother crouching and those 2 boss fights (essentially the same boss fight) but since those aren't in this game then it doesn't matter. otherwise crouching to dodge most fire and blocking  bullets while crouching works just fine imo.

my real gripe is with the level design since now although the stages are bigger and have more upgrades/collectibles to find they're pretty uneventful and largely feel like filler to advance the plot/set you up for a boss fight. which, speaking of boss fights, they're also way more boring and easy. also most of the upgrades either make the game too easy (health regeneration) or are completely useless (tractor beam).

otherwise it's still pretty fun and to be honest there are so many changes it feels like a completely different game that still focuses on swinging mechanics. BCR1 still is better since everything it did was pretty spotless and polished, but i like BCR2 too since it has more stuff although is flawed in many ways.

ps. i wouldn't let reviews influence anyone's decision to buy/not buy this game since they blow every little mistake out of proportion. if you liked the first game then you'll probably be fine with this one. also it's just 15 dollars you cheap fuck.

If your signature gave somebody an aneurysm would you feel bad? Do you want that on your conscience?

a typical bad person day for me begins and ends with long walks on the beach with my laptop as i loop videos of death metal lip synced to hamtaro's theme song
