Hey guys,

Just dropping by to show you all what we've been working on, since it's at a point where we can actually show it off. I'm one of three members of A Jolly Corpse, along with Beau and Jesse. If any of you were around the klik community of old, you may remember us as Fallen Angel Industries - and we'll be putting up the old faind games on the jolly corpse website boneyard too.

We've just released the first gameplay video of the game we're working on, Wyv and Keep - The Temple of the Lost Idol:

And also there are some screenshots:

The adventure stars the notorious thieves Wyv and Keep, who've become weary of their mundane life of thievery, and now travel the globe looking for lost treasures to claim as their own.

Gameplay is co-operative grid-based action/puzzle platformer, where navigating boxes onto switches is the ultimate goal, and a multitude of traps, enemies, and obstacles must be overcome in each level. Most often this requires teamwork between the two players, who can be controlled separately in single player mode, switching back and forth lost vikings style, or simultaneously for those players with cool friends.

We'd originally planned a version set in a trap-filled castle, with multiplayer and a built-in map editor. After considering that we wanted to release on cellphones as well however, we envisioned a smaller, prequel game that would be faster to make, allowing us to finish and release something before embarking on a longer endeavour. This is the origin of The Lost Idol; a small taste of things to come, but still very much a solid game in it's own right.

We're initially targeting Windows, Xbox, and Windows Phone 7, with plans to port it to Mac, Android, and iPhone in the future. Hopefully we'll be able to put out a playable preview sooner rather than later, so I'll be sure to let you know when it's available, but for now getting some initial opinions would be great :D

Let us know what you think, and drop us a line!

We're working towards having something demo worthy in the next few weeks. We have been revamping the engine a lot lately to make the gameplay more fluid and to better integrate the grid where it's necessary (like the puzzle elements). We're expecting the demo to be a few levels long and introduce some of the more common traps, as well as have a variety in puzzle difficulty Smiley

Hey, looks like you are in the same situation with your game as I am.

Apart that it looks like it can turn out to be a neat little puzzler. I like the team-work aspect and the moody visuals. I should hire your artist  Beer!

Procedural maps? Oh jesus. I am sure we could make some sort of randomizer but wish us luck trying to make a generator that has solvable puzzles that take half a brain to do Tongue

@J-Snake: We have two artists Smiley One backgrounds and one for animated sprites. Variety is the spice of life

Hey all. We have our first music sample up for the game. It's the title track composed by our recently recruited musician, Luke Thomas.

Luke's already been hard at work at finishing up the remainder of our music and sound requirements, breathing some original life into the game.

Check it out at:

Seriously sweet color palette, love how warm and bright the colors feel. From the platforms of your choice I guess this is XNA? I'm looking forward to playing this coop on the xbox.

Music is nice and it's great seeing the games from the past on your Fallen Angel site. Kudos!

Hey again guys! Just wanted to give an update, we've released a new video (it's been a while) showing a bit of the upcoming Wyv and Keep Preview! This is a bit of footage of a friend progressing through the first two levels of the demo version, which are levels that won't be in the actual game.

Check it out!

Just so you know what to expect when you click, here's some screenies too!

Hope you enjoy, and will make an announcement when the preview is up for public download! (..or, if you can't possibly wait until then and must absolutely play this instant, head over to the feedback section and check Twitch's post, we're always looking for beta testers!)

Thanks all!

Bye!  Beer!
