It went okay. Although I didnt meet my goals at 100%, I did more than expected from myself, it is indeed amazing how much performance some accountability can boost.
Not sure if you want to consider the goal met or not, but I went ahead and put Complete. Let me know if you have some kinky desire to be punished, or something, and I can change it to Fail if you see fit.
Again thanks! Tell me if you need any help managing or coming up with a more robust system (out of the forums, perhaps?) for doing this.
Yeah, I originally had this idea some time back (maybe a year ago?), and I thought of it as a simple webpage with a database. I thought I'd try it as a thread here, first. Now that I have the thread going, I like the fact that it gets some exposure. I'm afraid that as a separate webpage, it would tend to fizzle out and people wouldn't discover it. I'd like to automate it some more, but I think I'll keep the way people submit goals as replies to the thread. Then people can see the thread activity. Maybe I could have a standard format people post their goals in, and it could automatically see those and modify the first post.
Right now, I think the next thing I'm going to do is change the spreadsheet to a Google docs spreadsheet and have it pull directly from that (instead of tab separated value file in my Dropbox).
