Like the topic says, who here uses Unity and some form of version control?
I'm particularly interested if people here use Unity Free and version control, and if so, what their workflow is like to be able to support that.
I'm also interested if people here are using Unity Pro and external version control (not the Asset Server), and if so, if they are happy with it.

I'm involved with a small team (4 person) project that uses Unity (Free version) and Subversion.  It's something of a kluge.  You basically need to add in all of the assets into the repository and some of the build settings as well.  It's prone to errors.

This is a decent discussion of the problem:  http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/4932/.

No software should ever be such that every last little part of it can't be broken up and put somewhere else.

I'm looking at you, Windows API.

I use Unity with Subversion, and it can be a nightmare. Luckily I have a programmer who can set up a bunch of scripts to manage it so I don't have to worry about it too much. But we still have to coordinate our check-ins carefully.
