SpaceBit is a space shooter where you need to shoot aliens. When you kill aliens, you get rock (alien spieces). These rocks are valuable and you want to collect as many as you can. When you've managed to get a rock in your ship, fly back to your planet to receive the money.



Known bugs:
- The aliens can get stuck in the border of the room and in the planet.
- You can fly out of the room

What I need to improve:
- Every alien his own ability
- If you fly out of the room you get to the other side.
- Power ups
- Highscore
- Better music
- something else?

What I want to know of you:
- What do you think of the game in general?
- What needs to be improved?
- Ideas for power ups and monster abilities.

Credits
The spites and programming is done by me. The music is from Newgrounds (not sure wich user).
I'm still looking for better music, maybe I learn how to make my own.

Nice work on this game, especially the behavior of the ship and the graphic design in general.

About the monsters, it would be cool to have creature of different sizes and look, helping the player to know when a creature is new or not.

I would link the power-up to the abilities of the monster, so maybe you could start to find special powers for those monsters : armor, speed, stealth, etc ?

Seems worth playing. The graphics remind me of asteroids. Will this work on Linux?

I have no idea. It's made with Game Maker, it's an .exe file, that's all I can tell you. I have no knowledge of these things.

This seems to have a lot of potential. It's fun as-is, I love how chaotic it gets after a while.

Right now it's really easy to just stay near the planet and dart out for rocks, then back in to cash them. There's not any real reason to fly any further into space. Maybe have the aliens drop different kinds of items that need to be cashed in at different planets? Or maybe one planet gives you points, one gives you health, and one gives you weapon powerups, or something.

As for alien powers, I don't think they should shoot anything, it's already enough like a bullet hell without any bullets. But if you gave them different movements, (one moves faster the closer you are to it, one will suddenly stop, then dart towards you, One darts around in circles) And maybe give some of them extra armor, or make them effect you somehow on collision, (slow you down, make you unable to fire, reverse your controls)
