http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVykc7cmjyUThis is a video game currently under development. It is aesthetically pleasing (in other words, "fly"). It is being developed by the obscure British (?) company that published Muramasa and Deadly Premonition. Various former Clover Studio personnel are somehow involved.

I'd seen some early screenshots for it a long time ago, but they didn't do the game justice. It looks really interesting.

Very sleek graphics. Weapons look interesting. The bit about the platforming was intriguing too. Looks like it's separate from the combat though.

It's kinda like Bayonetta where the "angels" are hideous monsters. Which of course doesn't stop them from having halos and lots of gold everywhere.

The youtube comments are pretty amusing, as always. "Looks like an N64!"

In the end, will Youtube comments be the true triumph of the game?

All games must have gritty manshoots protagonists and greybrown grime. It's THE LAW. If it doesn't, it's not next-gen. And if it's not next-gen, the socialist nazis win.

To be fair, I really like the environments and the main character and NPC designs, but the enemies are kind of dull ("shadow beings" like that have been in lots of recent games) and the attack effects are underwhelming. For a hack'n'slash action game like this, attacks need to have some kind of visual "oomph", it has to feel like you're really hitting something, an effect that the what I've seen of the weapons in El Shaddai lack a bit.

Actually if you go look at that person's actual videos you find what appears to be a bunch of women in their 30s playing "Just Dance" for the Nintendo Wii.

I think I would be Gen Y. I was born in 1989 and spent my childhood mostly internets-less.

Sorry, but you're not. In case that sounds like an insult I would like to inform people that I was also born in 1989.
