Devolver Digital and Croteam hire indie developers to make official demakes of the Serious Sam franchise. WHATAmong them is Vlambeer! And yes, it's official. It's been confirmed by tons of sites, including announcements from the PR staff at Devolver. Also, Vlambeer's twitter. Granted, it could be a massive practical joke by all of the developers involved, but it's unlikely.

"Serious Sam: The Random Encounter" made me chuckle a bit. Looking forward to this!

Oh man! I'd seen that article, thought that "the random encounter" (heh) looked interesting, but I somehow managed to miss Vlambeer's name completely.
Awesome! Congrats to Vlambeer and everyone else involved.

I'm pumped that the guys from Mommy's Best Games are making one. They make some of my favorite Xbox Live Indie games. After Dark Void Zero came out on DSi, I was hoping that large studios hiring indies to make smaller games would become a trend so hopefully this keeps up.

“I’ve never heard of any of these indie clowns,” said Fork Parker, chief financial officer at Devolver Digital, publisher of Serious Sam 3: BFE. “Do any of these jokers make hentai games? I’m telling you guys, that weird tentacle stuff is the future of gaming.” This quote made me crack up. Damn, the Devolver Digital guys seem incredibly awesome.

The Random Encounter looks like it has potential, and tellingly is the only one of these three that isn't an existing game from the respective devs with a new frontend. Nice work, Vlambeer! Nice try, other two guys!

Good for Vlambeer, but if I have to say anything about this it's that I'm annoyed at how commercial companies are making indie a bandwagon now.

My only problem with this is that vlambeer seem to be the only ones making an effort, the other games are just reskins
