Fixed bug and spent two minutes making the economics better: http://www.willhostforfood.com/users/dorkman/krebsupdate.zipIf that's cheating the old version is here. http://www.willhostforfood.com/users/dorkman/krebs.zip(competition version, will polish it a bit extra tomorrow, make it more user friendly and easy to get into... probably) Controls: z-jump x-shoot c-bomb arrows - walk, aim up, interact (down) Game saves automatically upon roomstart. If all your characters die, you restart (so hire mercenaries).

Looks pretty cool. I think, though, that the characters kinda get lost in the background pattern at the moment.

This looks great! Is it set in the same universe as Mondo Medicals/Agency? 'Cause I think I recognize this cancer business and these TV-thing-headed guys

Travel between countries and try to find the source of the doom that has been unleashed on the citizens.
What, like GM cabbages? Or high-voltage power lines? AAAAAAAAAAHHHH *runs away screaming*

What's PG about it? Country size, country name, country design, region layouts, level design, the dialogue is selected randomly, encounters of special objects and enemies are generated, the guns are generated (about 10,000 different ones including graphics, attributes and price) and some enemies will have generated behaviour to some extent. I think that's about it right now, but there might be more. And, yeah. This will be an unofficial "Mondo game", but the plan I have is to redo it in 3D after the 2D version is finished (if it turns out good), which will make it an official sequel to Mondo Agency.

Wicked, I love the Mondo universe, even if the theme of cancer does disturb me. I always look forward to your games, especially your non-shooters, Cactus.

Interesting game you got here. I like the aesthetic (as I do with most of your games) and the block-breaking gameplay, as well as the amusing comments by the residents of that strange world I'm in. Game's very punishing, though. I can never get enough cash to hire people until I die somewhere. Also, I'm having trouble seeing what did you do of procedural content here. Most things seem pretty much preset.

I'm enjoying this a good bit. I keep getting curious when I see things and end up getting killed I did, however find a collision error: ___________________________________________ ERROR in action number 1 of Collision Event with object objProjectile for object objCancerBeast: Error in code at line 1: if my_energie2>other.energie energie2-=other.energie else at position 4: Unknown variable my_energie2 I figured I should post it. I registered just for you

I played a few times and usually only died by killing myself because I wasn't sure what would be fatal or not -- intentionally falling off the map, walking in to the thing that looked like a gun, walking in to the weird elephant thing ... Never found enough money to really buy anything except the 250-coin bombs. It's a neat world though; I like the triangles aesthetic, and the random comments people make. Looking forward to the post-compo version! Also, I'm having trouble seeing what did you do of procedural content here. Most things seem pretty much preset.
I'm assuming it's procedural levels and therefore an infinite length game? The levels don't seem designed; there's one where you start on top of the key.

Though since it never asked me a seed or anything and the levels never changed I didn't think of that. Does it take a seed from somewhere else? Or just a pre-randomized world?

It's all prerandomized. I figured it'd be better to have it the same thing every time you play, although it's probably a good idea to add a random mode. What's randomly generated: -Guns graphics -Gun properties -Levels -Portrait graphics for the dealers -Npc graphics I'll probably add this when I get the chance: -Online "career tracking" (highscore table) -Easier to earn money -Cheaper mercenaries in the first couple of levels -More optional tasks -Maybe some more gizmos I had to wrap it up at my girlfriend's which is why the game probably is a bit dull right now. Oh, well. Fixed bug and spent two minutes making the economics better: http://www.willhostforfood.com/users/dorkman/krebsupdate.zip
