QUBE (Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion) was short but fun with some clever and original puzzles.
The game offers up a linear series of First Person Puzzles, similar to Portal, except instead of a portal gun you have the power to interact with colored blocks to make them extrude in and out of walls.
QUBE was interesting, but felt to me more like a boring test than a fun game. I guess the first Portal did have that feel as well at times, but GlaDOS helped break up the monotony, whereas in QUBE you have literally no motivation to move forwards. Plus, some of the puzzles in QUBE are just ridiculously hard and glitchy since the physics engine makes it suck.

Aside from the glitch (only one of the very last levels had a noticible glitch, where a block would enter a wall when you rotate the floor) I thought the puzzles were tight and the solutions made sense. I never encountered a puzzle where the solution felt contrived, and the majority of the puzzle solutions flowed logically as you worked backwards trying to see how you could reach the exit, which was a little different (but not better or worse) than the way Portal 1 had a lot of possible alternate solutions as you got better at using the portals.

Trip World, for Game Boy. I'd argue its a better version of Mr. Gimmick! the awesome and beautiful and underrated NES title. Also Metal Gear GBC, Survival Kids for GBC, and Metroid 2 for GB. There is some amazing quality here.
Play Balloon Kid if you haven't already. Awesome GB game. There are a ton, actually. Underappreciated platform.

Skyscraper could be the video game adaptation of Darkplace with only the minimum of editing.

Beat the story mode of Tokyo Jungle. The ending was both original and made no sense whatsoever, such that I can't figure out if the explanation given for it was intended to be absolutely ridiculous, or if the devs just wrote themselves into a corner.
The final level was actually pretty exciting, though, so bizarre applications of science aside I felt like it was a good finale.
Now I just need to finish unlocking all the animals.

Kairosoft games are too addicting. First Game Dev Story, then Mega Mall Story and now Dungeon Village.

I'm playing Final Fantasy XIII right now. Actually, I've been playing that for the last three months or so - the game is loooooong.
And I'm almost at the end, but I still have no idea what's going on with the plot - which is a bit upsetting, as I really do love epic stories in games.

13 was my first Final Fantasy game, and I was expecting something a bit more coherent than what was actually presented.
I've heard really good things about 6 and 10, so I think I'll try to see if I can give them a shot sooner or later. Although that's after I finish this one.
