My favorite "new" POP game is Sands of Time. The rest weren't all that IMO.

I really wanted to like POP2006 because of the graphics'n'shit but the gameplay itself was just so boring and insubstantial, almost to the point of being trivial. The game is pretty much a textbook example of style over substancce.

Warrior Within had lovely environments, and it was really fun seeing how the same part of the castle could present two completely different challenges when it is in its original state (past) and crumbling and ruins (present). Mechanically it was brilliant. The story and characters were forgettable.

Two Thrones was really satisfying when you could successfully navigate a room and insta-kill the enemies without getting seen. The final battle was also pretty excellent. The story wasn't as well integrated into the gameplay (they seemed to just resort to cutscenes for all the price / princess interactions) but it was still fun.

But yeah, Sands of Time is the best one. Ubi seemed to try to repeat that success in the later games, but they didn't quite understand why Sands of Time was so brilliant. I haven't tried the Forgotten Sands on the PS3 yet, I wonder if that one is any good?

Being playing Ace of Spades for days now, incredible fun. Hopefully I get bored with it soon so I can go forward in my life.

The problem was that SOT sold badly so Ubi tried to make WW more commercially viable by giving it goofy "X-TREME" aesthetics. I mean for fuck's sake, no game should feature the music of Godsmack on its soundtrack, much less one set in ancient Persia. The gameplay's still fine (though level design isn't as good imo) but the atmosphere which was a big part of SOT is completely gone.

Oh man, that site had me at "A pack of dinosaurs break through the front line." Definitely checking it out.

I've been playing through a number of the games from the last Humble Bundle and am having a ton of fun with Atom Zombie Smasher and am now going through And Yet It Moves.

Playing lots of http://dominion.isotropic.org/ lately

It's much more fun playing Dominion with my friends (and with actual cards) ofc, but this is a pretty good way to hone my Mad Skillz when there's no one around to play.

The combat in Warrior Within was an improvement, though. I remember SoT's combat being kind of samey after a while.
Mind you, having every possible button combo make the prince start flipping out and killing everyone in a graphically different but mechanically identical way (as far as I could tell) may not have been the best solution to that.

Started playing League of Legends at a friend's request. (I guess he's max level and is really good at it)

Pretty fun. I think I will be playing more of it.

Portal 2 Co-op is great! Probably will be playing multiplayer games all weekend then.

Too many short rounds of Andrew Morrish's Super Puzzle Platformer.

I've also been trying to catch up on the newer Steam demo releases I've been neglecting.

Demon Souls

Upon CASinclairs constant praise for the game, I started playing it at my cousins house.

Hard as balls, but you learn to love it eventually.

Right now I'm playing a back log of indie games that I never got around to for whatever reason. At the moment:

Cave Story (2nd playthrough)
Braid (2nd playthrough)
Flywrench (and the other messhof games)

It's fun, I think I like it more than Street Hacker, and it does get very tense.
