Already played the iphone version of that when it came out. Pretty fun.
Speaking of the frontpage, Locomalito's new game, Maldita Castilla is some gooooood shit (as always). Can't wait for the finished version.

I love that shit. I'm already pretty close to nailing Level 20. Those cheap shots at the end though... it is so "that game." We need to play some co-op on that, just for kicks.

Don't see why it wouldn't... unless PSN is really PS-psuedo-region-locked-Ns.

that's a great game, and about 5 times scarier than bioshock despite its dated low-poly graphics.

Currently Playing; Castlevania Lords of Shadow with some No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise on the side. Can't believe I'm saying this but Lords of Shadow looks too good, to the point where it looks bad actually. The high quality textures look really nice and bright while you're not moving, but then when you move it gets sort of dark, so it's constantly giving an almost flickering light, which is annoying as hell. Gameplay wise it's great.

What. Gameplay in LoS...great? Castlevania has yet to be successfully transmuted to a 3D platformer. They actually went backwards since Castlevania 64 was less linear than Lords of Shadow, which is, more linear than Rush Limbaugh. I couldn't take the linearity so I gave up in chapter three. that's a great game, and about 5 times scarier than bioshock despite its dated low-poly graphics.
Agree. The isolation is so well done.

LoS seems more derivative than Human Revolution with the addition of mind-boggling confusion in its design and cumbersome controls. why would you develop such a combo system when most enemies hardly flinch Still better about it than GoW though.
I need to play System Shock uguu. Instead of playing games, I'm reading about Chinese subculture and criminality in North America for leisure.

why would you develop such a combo system when most enemies hardly flinch to give yourself the illusion you're doing something different, in an attempt to keep the player entertained; the funny thing is, its the kind of entertainment that requires that the player play pretend along with the game. it isn't like devil may cry where the rules and the challenge of the combat is self-sufficient; in this particular case, the game gives you a bevy of extra "moves" and "abilities" purely to prevent you from becoming bored of striking three times and then rolling. a few of the moves do do something different and have a different more satisfying crunch, but the game never actually pushes you to experiment or use different moves because there is no point in the game where striking three times and then dodging is ineffective. it is slightly better than god of war, but that is hardly praise. and thats just talking about the flawed combat, thats completely ignoring the fact that actually trying to move through the games (albeit attractive) environments is the closest i've ever come to realizing just how difficult it must be for a blind man to feel his way around. the rules as to what can and cannot be interacted with are inconsistent, and its as if the visuals of the level were designed separately from the physicality of it; there was a part in the game where I saw a small area on the cliff beneath me that was a flat plane of ground i should have been able to stand on, and yet when i released to land on it, it simply triggered the death animation and I fell through the floor; that floor serves no purpose. there is no way to get to it, it is isolated and goes nowhere, there is nothing on it, and it cant even be interacted with; according to the game, it isn't even actually a thing. attempting to interact with it just results in you falling through it. man. and i played all the way through this game. like, it isn't even that its a bad castlevania game. it is, but its just a bad game all around

Yeah, I won't disagree it's very linear. The game seems to slowly get less linear as I progress (granted it will never be a exploration sandbox type game). With that said, I don't really have any gripes with the gameplay. Perhaps calling it great was an overstatement, since it doesn't really do anything unique, but it's very easy to play, and works well, soooooo, that's great in my books. I thought I mentioned this in my original post but I guess I didn't. I'm one of the people who went into the game expecting it NOT to be a Castlevania game. So when (surprise surprise) it wasn't, I didn't feel bad at all about it. I don't know why more people didn't do this, since most of the hate for the game stems from the, "IT'S NOT A CASTLVANIA GAME ARG POOP MY PANTS 3:<" argument. Again, I'd agree that it's not a Castlevania game in the least, but it's still a game that's worth playing.

I liked the graphics and atmosphere in LOS (and Patrick Stewart's voiceovers) but from a gameplay standpoint it's kinda mediocre.

Actually, thinking about it, I've actually been playing the original Deus Ex for the first time. I'm liking how open it is from the start.
