I thought Jazz 2 was fantastic and I still play it on a semi-regular basis.

Jazz 1 though is uh

it has that shareware problem where all the effort was put into the free episode and none was put into the rest.

Jazz 3? Yes. All Unreal games feel like that to me. The physics are unreal.

On the subject of Bubsy,

If somebody were serious about bringing him back instead of trying to cash in on his recent spike in popularity due to Arcane Kids, I think they'd do better by working his failure into the narrative. Make Bubsy acutely aware of his status as a 90s icon that crashed before the merchandising train could leave the station. His goofy commentary is replaced by bitter, fourth-wall breaking sarcasm on the arbitrary nature of game design and the franchises that rose while he fell. Maybe add a dash of self-doubt in the form of obsession over social media impressions of his game.

It'd add an unusual spin to his character that wouldn't be unique, but would be authentic.

They totally did in the steam greenligth description

an Bubsy rise from the ashes? Cast your vote to #SaveBubsy and begin his journey to redemption!

Accolade’s most notorious character had not been seen since an ill-fated venture into 3-D. Out of the blue, he showed up at Retroism’s doorstep, bedraggled and mumbling about being doomed to a legacy of shame and obscurity. But we’ve cleaned him up and given him a new lease on life, a shot at returning to the big time – but he’ll need your support!

Bubsy’s journey to redemption begins with your vote to bring two of his 2-D games to authorized digital download for the first time in the Bubsy Two-Fur on Steam. With your support, Bubsy may finally be able to look himself in the mirror and smile, carry himself with dignity, and perhaps find the strength within to go on new adventures again

Nah, just give 'im a gun and maybe let him steal cars. Redemption should be served cold.

They have Demon's Souls on sale on the PSN for $10, I haven't played it in ages and my wife hasn't played it yet at all so we're going to give it a run-through. Should be interesting to go back to after having sunk so much time in to Dark Souls 2.

Caves of Qud is becoming one of my favorite traditional roguelikes. I was already a fan of the original free version despite its incomplete storyline and balance issues. But ever since the game is on Steam, development seems to have basically kicked into hyperdrive. It's one of the best supported early access steam gams I've ever seen with multiple updates almost every week.

I've heard that some ppl in the roguelike community dislike the dev's decision to go commercial, but honestly, if going commercial means that a hidden gem like Qud that seemed abandoned for years sees continued development (esp at this speed) I couldn't care less.

Hell yea, Caves of Qud is the bee's knees. The game is worth checking out just for the worldbuilding alone. Also I met the devs once and they are cool dudes that must be superhuman to work on 2 games at once and do full time jobs and have families.

Yea there is a substantial portion of the roguelike community that thinks all things should be free forever and charging money is some sort of malicious scam.

I love waiting 15 seconds before watching an internet video. really makes me feel how I'm contributing to the wealth of nations and building a better world for our children.
