I just enjoy the videogames based on it; I don't know anything about the pen and paper stuff. But the range of skills and stats does some cool things in the games.
For example, in Realms of Arkania 3, there's a bit early on where you come across a lynch mob. If you've got a guy with too many points into carousing or who really likes to get into fights, he can get swept up in it. It doesn't necessarily do anything, but it helps characterize your party more than in a lot of other games, so I liked it.

TowerClimb! Every time I think "I've seen pretty much everything," BAM WOAH WHAT WAS THAT HOLY CRAP WHAT. It's also super atmospheric, both the music and graphics fit together very well. It feels genuinely creepy. Also the music kinda reminds me of Super Metroid.

Played some more Azraels Tear because I finally figured out what the hell to do thanks to a walkthrough.

DROD4 came out today. I waffled for a few minutes expecting it to be an April Fools, but it's not. It's a little easier than The City Beneath so far, but I'm loving how they've chosen to make new levels with the old dungeon features instead of introducing new features every level.
Something about the voice acting feels off. Maybe it's just a new voice for Beethro. Maybe it's because I keep expecting to hear Beethro's voice instead of Gunthro's. It's not a big deal but it's a little nagging thing.

Started playing Lone Survivor last night after realizing I wasn't going to get any work done anyway.
It is excellent. Can't wait for the soundtrack to drop.

Nomltest, Garden of Colored Lights, White Butterfly and Endless Fire. These games are for inspiration.
5 Days a Stranger is the one I'm playing without ulterior motives. Unfortunately, I'm stuck, but I refuse to use a FAQ.

Heh, my friend's cousin showed me that game after confusing its name with the Wonder Boy games. I played partway through it and stopped for no real reason, and haven't heard of it before or since. Pretty interesting.
