I'm playing Deus Ex : Human Revolution. It might not top the original (perhaps it can surprise me on the later levels, but I doubt it), but it's still damn good for what it is. My only complains are pretty much the bosses, the removal of the body part damage system and the emotionless faces during dialog (they don't seem to change their expressions even when they are getting worked up), but everything else is excellent.

Continuing with Ultima Underworld. Finally got the hang of it a few days back and started really getting into the flow. There were two things that had been holding me up previously. One had been that I didn't fully understand the Mantra system, and hadn't realized you could chant the same mantra more than once, or that this was the primary leveling mechanism. Second, I felt like I wasn't getting much accomplished because I was already at level 4 and hadn't found any of the Cabirus talismans and I hadn't felt like I'd really completed any of the levels, so much as just moved on. I hadn't realized that the structure of the game was less rigid than that, and I started finding Cabirus talismans left and right.

Just got that on the Steam sale, need to try it out! I thought they patched up the bosses a bit so it's not so bad?

@chubigans I agree with crowe, the boss battles are a chore. I won't spoil it to you, but finding their weakpoint is so based in trial and error that it bores me. I don't know how they were before the patch, since I also brought the game in the same Steam sale than you, I assume. =p (I brought it in last week's Deus Ex sale)

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
I know this and Lament of Innocence get a bad rap for being those two weird 3d PS2 Vanias but I honestly think CoD is pretty fun. For me at least.
When I re-picked it up a week or so ago I pretty much forgot everything about it (last played years ago lol). But the more I played the more I figured out the cool little systems they have going.
THE CRAFTING SYSTEM is pretty lightweight which, in my opinion, a good thing. It boils down to finding a new material from an enemy and gleefully going into the crafting mode to see what new weapons/armor you can make. It's like Christmas!
INNOCENT DEVILS are pretty cool. You eventually get a variety of IDs that do different things (tho some are kinda similar). -The Fairy Type heals you and can remove statuses. It has brought me back from the brink of death on several boss fights so it's certainly useful. -The Battle Type is handy for crowd control and chain attacks (where you attack and then he attacks and shit dies). -Bird Types are really only good for the glide ability. But they do help with air juggling enemies which is cool. -Mage Types have cool spells and stuff. Like satellite lasers that follow you around and shoot enemies, or a spell that instakills undead (very helpful on later levels). -Devil Type(s) are only for plot advancement basically and aren't that uniquely useful unless you love grinding.
Innocent Devils evolve by eating Evo Crystals. You get these crystals by killing enemies. To get a certain color crystal you kill the enemies with a specific type of weapon. So there are tons of evolution paths to experiment with (some are definitely better than others however).
One of the dumb things about IDs is how each has it's own "puzzle" ability used to get through different one-off situations. Fairy Types open chests, Battle Types open heavy doors, Bird Types glide you over large gaps, Mage Types freeze time, and Devil Types let you get under gates and things.
COMBAT is fun.
There are 5 categories of weapons (Sword, Axe, Spear, Fist, Special). Sword has three sub-categories (Short, Rapier, Bigass) and Axe has two (Short, Bigass). Each type of weapon adheres to a neat little combo system with special attacks for different situations (long range, area of affect, multihit).
You also get a flip kick and a launcher.
SO YOU COULD DO SOMETHING LIKE Normal > Normal > Normal > Flip Kick > Air > Air > Air > Double Jump Cancel > Air > Air > Air > Normal > Normal > Normal > Finisher
SUPER SATISFYING
Oh you can also just defend enemy attacks. <3
OTHER NOTES. -Exploration is rather light and there are lots of big empty corridors filled with enemies and same-y environments. -The Music is Castlevania Good. -You can steal an item from every enemy in the game. Even bosses! -Electric guitar as a weapon. -Everyone speaks oldish english with super dramatic voices. I personally enjoy goofy things like this so it's a plus for me.
TOO FUCKIN LONG DIDNT READ I get why people don't really like the game. Regardless I think it's fun, has depth, is somewhat challenging, and great music.
HOW DID THIS GET SO DAMN LONG

Was playing one of the much later levels in Trials. 50-some faults in and I was on the last obstacle of the course. My hands were very sweaty at this point and while trying to maneuver up the incline my left thumb slipped off the joystick and hit the back button, instantly resetting the entire course.
Looks like I'm never playing that game again.

It sounded fairly interesting, so I just started playing Chrono Trigger (about half an hour so far).
Also playing The Witcher 2 (got to Chapter 3 yesterday) and Tribes: Ascend.
