Starcraft 2 atm. Single-player campaign was a really nice surprise gameplay-wise. I was expecting a linear set of mission using same rooster as online, but it was nice to see slight customization, choice-based mission etc. Even if story is sub-par (like Diablo III it brings back all characters and aims at nostalgia of old players), I enjoyed the lore, ability to talk to people, laboratory etc.

Crush 3D on the 3DS
A puzzle platformer that lets you view the world from 4 camera angles, N E S W, as well as a top-down perspective. You can press L to flatten the world in that perspective to reach otherwise unreachable platforms. It's very long and starts off quite challenging

I loved the original PSP game, but the change in art style really put me off of the 3DS version. Do you know if the levels are original?

I haven't played the PSP version, but apparently the levels aren't different gameplay-wise.
The artstyle seems very bright and kiddish in comparison, but it looks a lot clearer, so I guess it's a personal preference thing

I've been playing a fair bit of civ 5, it eats days.
My main complaint of the game is that it gets kind of slow near the end of a match.

I played through three or four games of Civ 5 and then got bored with it. It didn't have the same replayability for me that Civ 3 did (I haven't played anything but 3 and 5).
I just played about an hour of Dead Space for the first time. It was okay but the things like a store and hp upgrades seemed pretty desperate and I felt like I was just running from A to B and killing things in between. I'm not sure if I'll keep playing tbh.

I made it to the boss at the bottom of the Shipyard dungeon in Dark Cloud, but the tedium in trying to beat it got to me. I looked up some let's plays to see if the game would change dramatically or improve beyond, and it didn't really seem like it was worth it. I started Phantom Brave today, since I swore to try a NIS game soemday, but I don't think I'm gonna stick with it. I just don't think I'm the kind of person who likes grinding, which bothers me. Maybe it's because it makes me less of a hardcore gamer, maybe it's because it prevents me from playing a bunch of games in a genre that is supposed to place story above all else, but I simply cannot be bothered. The more entertainment I'm exposed to- not just books, but movies and TV shows too- the more I realize just how badly stories in a lot of games are written. At the same time, I feel like a lot of the games in my backlog just aren't worth my time. Maybe it's a sign I'm growing up? I still have yet to play Planescape or Fallout 1/2, which I hear are still the gold standard for writing in games. I guess I'm just realizing my time is more valuable than before, and I don't want to spend it grinding to complete a hokey storyline.

Soul Calibur 4. Playing with a custom-costumed version of Misturugi right now. I'm not very good but i'm figuring things out pretty quickly.

Borderlands is having a free weekend on Steam, so I'm giving that a go. I hate it when a game won't let me adjust my mouse sensitivity as low as I want it, though in the case of Borderlands the minimum sensitivity is still bearable to me. Hopefully I'll be able to play co-op before the free weekend's over.

I'm currently powering through a backlog of over 26 games. I just finished Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3), and now I'm moving on to Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS), followed by Gravity Rush (Vita). There's too many third person action games on this fucking backlog though, and I've given up on a few like Assassin's Creed.
