The fact that everyone prefers "The Archer" when it's just as generic as "The Secret Land" just proves your point about the game making the name seem better.

the secret land...The Secret Land...THE SECRET LAND!!
I like it better than "The Archer". After all, now you are more focused in the environment than a guy using mostly a bow and arrows.
And the boss concept art...the guy using an axe! Wow! That change the gameplay. Close-range and large-range combat. Let's see how it works.

Disclaimer: Concept art does not necessarily reflect the finished game! Sometimes things are just fun to draw!

I have been a lurker for quite some time on the TIGforum before I became a member. There was a time last year when I had no internet at home and I had to go to the library where I lived closeby, this was where I checked my mail and stuff. At that time I often looked around here to check "The Archer" and always wondered about it when I was offline at home. Thanks to you I started making games again, and picked up a pencil more to draw. This actually is something that I've always done and wanted to do. Went to artschool and everything but I got lost in other things, other interests (like DJ'ing), eventhough drawing is my passion and socalled talent. Anyway, what it boils down to; a big thanks for doing what your doing and making me rise up like some phoenix again! Please continue, you're awesome. Enough asskissing. End of loveletter.

@Robin SommerThanks a lot man, it's posts like that that really make my day and make this whole thing worthwhile! I'm glad to hear that it's helped you in some small way. Some of you may have seen it already (I had URL in the last piece of art), but I started a journal for my game development adventures. It's as official of a website as you guys are gonna get out of me - I don't care much for the corporate stuff but this is where I'll be posting all the "official" updates to this game and all my other game development work. The name is a bit ominous but it's more a reminder to myself of the mistakes I've made in the past, not my future plans http://www.bridgeburner.ca/I've only written a couple posts so far but I plan on making it a fairly regular thing, and I'll probably also do monthly reports on my progress on the game (and I will also post them here of course). I'm also working on a simpler website for the game, which I'll post up eventually. Still figuring out how I want it to look though. Happy Canada Day!

Hmm, can you send me a screenshot? I've run into some formatting issues with blogger but it seems to look fine on my computer. Are you looking at it on a mobile device?

No, I'm browsing on my PC with Opera: rmb -> open image It has the same lengthy spaces under the images edit: but it works fine in Chrome, however I never had this issue with any other blog set up on blogger (blogspot.com u mean?) using Opera. Strange

Good site and good post. I think a lot of us can relate to your post in one way or another. Even though I just recently joined the community, I am still glad to be apart of such a supportive one. Don't forget that.
Keep up the hard work and we'll help you though the rough patches as best we can. You will finish this game! :D

@jmcmorrisThanks dude I certainly feel a lot better after writing it... now I can focus on keeping things positive and finishing this game. @ANtYThanks for the heads up - that was the same issue I was getting with the mobile version. The problem is that I have this anal issue about keeping the edges pixel-perfectly aligned, so when I would center images they would get this strange indent. So I would have to left-align them, which made the text not want to go underneath - but now I realize that was only in the text editor since it was wider than the actual final layout. Anyway, that problably didn't make any sense but I think I fixed it. If you check again now does it still show up?

Heya Boon, that art looks awesome!
On a scale of 1 to 10 on how secret the land will be, how would you rate it?

On a scale from one to secret, it's pretty secret.

So, update. I'm gonna be doing a weekly screenshot post on the blog, instead of a daily one, since I don't want to spoil everything. I wrote a quick post on the blog to go with this one: Screenshot Saturday 1 I am also resuming the tumblr devlog, which has daily text updates about what I did that day: Daily Tumblr devlogI also reverted the title of the thread to the original one, since I've had some time to think about names and I really don't like "The Secret Land" anymore. I'm just gonna keep it with the working title and see how things go. That's all for now but if there's anything else I'll let you guys know. @AnthonySerect level: fuck
