Also, you are correct, construct doesn't have the screen tearing problem, as it uses vsync by default.

Hi,

oh....YoYo Games should modify Game Maker to use vsync by default.!!   Sad      Sad

(haven't heard of Unity having any plans to support consoles, but that would be interesting)
If you don't foresee either of those being a problem, then your only concern is the quality of the game you make.

ok...I see. I will continue to learn Game Maker.!

Unity currently supports the Wii, the PS3 and the Xbox 360, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

As far as money goes, using Game Maker actually can hurt you. A lot of the "big" game aggregation sites don't let you upload GM games and prefer Flash or Unity.

ok...Game Maker's reputation is not as good as Flash and Unity.! GM users(commercial) actually should also learn and use other game making softwares.!   Who, Me?

Game Maker's reputation is bad because it is often used by novice programmers and game designers. However, that reputation really only exists with developers - if you're planning on selling a game, not all of your customers will be aware of that stigma. You don't even have to mention that you used Game Maker. As I said before, what matters is the game itself, not the tool you used to make it. The only limit with Game Maker is that you'll have to sell it yourself and it'll be Windows-only, for the most part.

3. Game Maker 8.0 has the screen tearing problem. It means that this problem has not been  solved from Game Maker 1.0 to Game Maker 8.0. Why YoYo Games cannot solve this problem? Is it hard to solve this problem? I hear that Construct doesn't have this problem. How about Multimedia Fusion? How about Unity?

Global Game Settings -> Resolution -> Use synchronization to avoid tearing

Is that what you were looking for?

YoYo Games is a very famous company and this problem is a basic problem and they really need to solve it as soon as possible.

This option actually cannot solve the problem.

ok..I really understand now. Thanks.

I notice that Game Maker's name is changed to GameMaker. GameMaker 8.1 has been released today! I hear that there are many new and good features in version 8.1.! Version 8.1 will help to increase GM's reputation!!

I got 8.1 and am very happy with it! The room editor is vastly improved. No more Softwrap/evil drm either. Coffee
