So I interpreted the question as being for electronic music that is "musical" in nature. In which case I'm amazed, how has no one mentioned Boards of Canada yet? I mean not even I'm offended, just usually they're the second thing mentioned in a music recommendations thread I think I also might suggest Arovane and BT. I think the people who told you to listen to Squarepusher and Four Tet are giving you excellent advice. Overall though I'm not sure how much use I can be because the electronic music I listen to tends to be not-nice sludgy cement mixer noises ^_^ However if you'd like to take a risk I always want to recommend Autechre to people. EDIT: Oh! Amon Tobin.

Sometimes I like to listen to some I am Robot and Proud (this one is 401 Circuit). His music can get a bit too repetitious, but its cheerfulness can make up for it. Since I am Robot and Proud has already been mentioned, I should offer another suggestion. William Fields is one of my all-time favorites, and he has been sharing his music online for free for over a decade. He has experimented in a variety of styles of rhythmic electronic music and some no-rhythmic styles. Asoka is my favorite, Branches is a good cross-sampling of his music, and Timbre was his first ambient album.

Recently discovered Venetian Snares. I really love the chaotic drums.

Maybe because this is a thread about recommending new music to people and everyone knows Kraftwerk already.

all other bands in this genre suck Yeah, Lazy Jones killed electro. Definite precursor to modern electro of Benny Benassi and Deadmau5.

Thanks. This new acquaintance with Fennesz is making my ears happy. "Black Sea" is my favorite so far.
