girls ripping themselves in half and dudes with horse faces riding horses with dude faces: fuck yes.
That right there needs to be the game's slogan.

Last time Suda and Mikami collaborated, the result was Killer7, one of my favorite games of all time, so I've been massively pumped for this ever since the original TGS announcement. Any word on a release date yet?

Not gonna lie, I haven't been feeling this game at all. I'll buy it day one anyway since I love Suda, Yamaoka, and Mikami, and I'm sure they won't let me down here, but right now, I just can't really get hyped about it.
The monster designs are top notch and I love the music, but the game itself just looks a bit repetitive.

This looks like a lot of fun. If I get an Xbox between now and when it's released, I'll strongly consider buying it.

Great video! Looks like another game that isn't going to get a German release. The light mechanic sounds a bit like Alan Wake. Except Alan Wake bored me out of my skull and this game looks crazy awesome.

There was a hands on test a few days ago where someone said it's "just like the Alan Wake mechanic except better". I've never played Alan Wake so I can't speak on it, but I just thought it was an interesting comparison.

The thing with Alan Wake's light mechanic is that it's a gimmick of the particularly insubstantial variety. Basically your flashlight is just another gun (it even has "ammo" in the form of batteries), so what it amounts to is having to shoot enemies with one gun before you can shoot them with your other guns. There's slightly more to it than that, but not much.
SOTD's mechanic looks more along the lines of switch puzzles though, so not the same.

Suda knows how to make a stylish game, with awesome characters, ambient and story.. but sucks at gameplay. Mikami knows how to make great gameplay but his games are usually very bland.. perfect combination

Also best use of overused plot and ado-like humor. I would not rant at game if they were all as punchy as this. BulletStorm ? no thnx! shadow of the damned YES PLEASE!
