What of the "white males" you keep bringing up? I seriously doubt every person who is a "white male" here has gone out of their way to disrespect you yet three times already you've insinuated that this community is geared towards the "white males" or that "white males" are trying to downplay sexism and racism. If eliminating discrimination based on gender, sexual preferences, or race would make this place more pleasant maybe you should start with yourself.

And for Cow that keeps flaunting that I do not know how is to be a minority and really discriminated, I must say that I've been on several ends of that (including being robbed by black people for being white, and being ostracized by white people for having black facial features).

I agree with you, and in fact I understood you (for example, visit wikipedia list of game developers, there are 3 females there in the category "programmers", and 2 are transsexuals, so I see where the joke came from, and btw: in a interview one of the 2 transsexuals, stated regretting that decision, and that should have remained male).


But... there are even a site about it (ie: males getting penetrated by trans women... although the site suggest it is a kinda sort of rape...)

Basically I'm adjusting the standards of discrimination to account for white male privilege

"Positive discrimination" is a farce (social discrimination by definition is the unfair treatment of a group of people based on prejudice, there is nothing positive about it). You're not adjusting any standards of discrimination here, all that you are doing is spouting prejudice in retaliation to what you feel is prejudice and then telling everyone how wrong prejudice is.

I got a scar that stretches from the corner of my mouth to the corner of my nose from getting jumped by a dozen guys and stabbed in the face for being white (well, off-white), and my cousin got stabbed in the ribs and gut. If you're white in this part of town and it's after sunset you're a prime target for the gangs here (I guess that's just a hazard of being under-privileged and marginalized ). It doesn't matter what color your skin is or what your gender is someone will hate you for it (my best friend who is black got jumped by a Samoan gang and got a brick to the back of the head for being black). That is just the sad state of our society.

Yes, because that is exactly what I said. Apparently I must like condemning most of my family to limited opportunity and poor treatment considering that most of my family is not white. Oh, and I forget what was it I said that was putting down minorities again? Also, if getting stabbed in the face is not a good reason to condemn minorities then what was it that was such a good reason to condemn white males?

Pointing out that white males have white privilege (widely documented, see: Wikipedia) and male privilege (also widely documented), and they constitute the majority of the "edgy jokers" like your portrait of Phubans' comedic genius isn't discriminatory at all. What is the moral of this story?

Don't overreact to comments relating to race/sex/politics/religion even if they are offensive - especially if they're offensive, because I guarantee you guys, it takes a hell of an asshole to actually mean those things, and when someone like Hubans gets all this heat for making jokes when he's obviously just trying to make fun it disappoints me deeply.

Stop beating up on each other and realize that forum posts, being words such as they are, cannot communicate tone of voice, so in far too many cases, this is misinterpreted as this.

Positive discrimination was never about avoiding the discrimination, it's a discrimination by definition.

It's about avoiding slippery slope and inescapable fate, it's a rubber band mechanics.

But most people don't like it because they don't like when people catch them in their standard. There is a large hypocrisies in the meritocratic argument which is the most popular raised against positive discrimination.

I'm not talking about just race or gender, but any marker of wealth that close people from accessing resource systemically, there is a procedural destruction at work.
