I like seeing a lot of different takes on the same art, don't think you need a dibs system.  It's just a for-fun event, less rules is better.

Last AGBIC we didn't do dibs, did we?

I like the idea of multiple users having a shot at doing the same game. I personally enjoy seeing how different people interpret the same cartridge art.

It didn't no. People are just calling dibs for fun; check out when I suggested AGBIC in the Ideas thread. Lots of people started calling dibs.

A dibs system is unnecessary, ayup. I'll just HEAVILY ENCOURAGE variety and fun!

I also would love to do an award system, similar to what Melly did last year; awards are always nice!

I'd love AGBIC to be an annual event. I missed it last year, only hearing about it after the closing date.

Overall I think it worked well last year, judging by the results and interest.

If it was to happen this year you could count on at least one game from me.

If the management aren't interested in making AGBIC an annual event, what are our options?

Make it ourselves I guess? The competition forum is open for any type of unofficial compo.

Though having it be an official TIGS compo would be even better of course.

Awesome!  Coffee

You might still need to contact Melly who ran the original AGBIC and ask him whether he's OK with the whole project though. I mean I'm sure he won't mind but it seems like the proper thing to do. He hasn't posted here in a while tho.  Concerned

No he's not. He'll only be awesome when he finally gets around to finishing Simple Soccer. Tongue

haha! blast from the past, there.

You should try Yoda Soccer, which was built from my Simple Soccer code (little of which remains, no doubt)

Any word on this?  I'd love to take part in AGBIC 2011, whether it's an official or unofficial compo.
