yeah but that just sells google web apps i believe -- google chrome graphical themes, utilities like calendars and to-do lists, browser games, stuff like that. i don't think you can actually sell full downloadable games with it? i did notice canabalt is there, but that's a browser game, i don't see any non-browser games there.

I did actually play a full 3D game from that store once, maybe... was a while ago.

Anyway:
I have a finished (mostly) game that i'm not working on at the moment and i just want people to play it. I can see why your site might be a nice place for me to go (plus i'm a college student, so it seems to fit your theme), but say i wasn't embarrassed about taking money for it and wanted to make a real profit. I would first think of the most popular outlets available to me (Steam comes to mind, but i can't think of another off-the-top). I guess you're trying to be the compliment, not replacement. But even so, what would make you different from any random site i could go to, other than community?

Do you have a plan to attract gamers (not devs) from communities like this, or other sites?

BTW: Seems like i have no risk in this situation. My game's in my sig if you wanna look.

In theory anything can be compiled to a Chrome web app. You're supposed to be able to make full fledged games using HTML5 or java or maybe even native languages.
But the process is a bit too complex and I got tired waiting for them to grant access to non-US devs. I don't thik their store is extremely succesful.

Hi SplinterOfChaos

Cool game. I like gravity games. Not enough gravity games out there.

My webmaster is currently working on the instructions on how games get posted on the site. I will be sending you an email with information sometime this week.

You are right about it complimenting sites like steam and not replace. If I tried to go toe to toe with them and replace them I lose. That is not my intent. This website is a stepping stone. You start here, if you get a lot of sales with a good rating from people who played the game you can go to steam and actualy have more weight at the negotiating table. More weight then say, if you just had a game with 0 sales and 0 rating.

Also, I allow people to post games for free. So if someone like a college student just wants to put thier game up for free just to add the game they made to their portfolio for job interviews and get ratings on the game they can. Just follow the big three rules which have already been posted and everything is good.

I also do not make anyone sign a nondisclosure agreement. I do not like secretive business practices.

To get customers one of the first things I am going to do is use the keyword service that my hosting service provides for search engine hits. I plan on eventualy getting TV advertising as well.
