Tight

Break bricks, shoot down enemies, buy upgrades, and kill the Boss.

Instructions:
  • Use keyboard for moving and mouse for shooting
  • Press space to change weapon
  • Get score for breaking bricks and killing enemies
  • Buy upgrades (press right mouse button or escape to open shop)
  • Kill Boss and win

fun idea.. the rocket upgrade is insanely overpowered though.. you don't need to upgrade anything else if you just spend points on rockets.

maybe you should give less points for the bricks and more for enemies? I found the best tactic was ignoring the enemies altogether

Looks and sounds great. Big problem for left handed players though, the space key is hard to get at for changing weapons. Perhaps space should be used for the little screen that pops up when you press the right mouse button and vice versa?

Okay, this game is pretty great! I like it a lot.

A few things I noted;

You move kinda sluggishly. I think an all-round speed-boost would make the game feel more responsive and faster-paced.

The spinning-gear was ALWAYS spinning; it'd be nice if it moved with your mouse, or only when you were moving, or something.

Simple, addictive and not easy. Graphics and audio are consistent and good. Great idea. I really like this game. Good work.

Machine gun rockets? Come to papa! (okay, maybe a tad overpowered considering they owned the boss in about 1.5 seconds...)

Anyway, the music/color scheme give it a trippy vibe.

Thanks all for feedback! Now we're porting the game to flash and take into account all comments and suggestions.

And some words about rockets: if you can shoot them without delay - it is a bug. Sorry, but we are so lazy to find the reason and fix :(

I saw this on Bytejacker and decided to download it.

This game's pretty pretty fun. I only have one complaint; there doesn't seem to be any way to tell what weapon you've switched to, or if you've even switched weapons at all.

I'd like to see what the game's like without the final rocket upgrade being an unstoppable rapid fire of doom.

The visuals and music gave me this relaxed, psychedelic vibe, and added alot of personality to a pretty simple concept. I just wish there were more upgrades so I could keep playing.  Smiley

Consistent and fun art style and fitting music.  I liked the digging mechanic - it made me frantic to buy the next saw upgrade.

You might want to consider having mouse wheel be the button to change weapons.  It was awkward to switch my hands around trying to get a different weapon so I just stuck with the gun.

I enjoyed it.  Definitely a cool little concept, although I agree with a lot of the people here that it's quite unbalanced.

Rockets are the only thing you need to focus on, especially considering the fact that destroying blocks with rockets gives you more points, leading to more rockets.  Perhaps only getting points for cutting rather than blowing up blocks would keep up the difficulty since you could dig yourself a hole with a rocket but it would only buy you more time to survive rather that giving you more points for upgrades (or for score padding)

I think a good way to balance rockets would be to not have Gun decrease how fast the delay for shooting rockets becomes that way gun is more a weapon you use to take out the enemies with.

Certainly found that just going Rocket, Rocket, Rocket and then Gun a few times was basically unbalanced.
Was able to rack up 200k in points. Tongue

Interesting game though, I'm always down for some brick destruction.
