I actually like trying to remove lasthitting as a concept, but not from any existing DotA games. Sort of as an experiment for the genre. Don't think it can fully work because of how "he's going for that lasthit" is the perfect opportunity to set up stuff on people, but eh.

Played it a lot, loved it, still different to a game with level progression, skill orders and items. Totally ripping off their control scheme for the eventual DotA game I'll attempt to make.

I would be interested to see how things would work if creeps dropped gold coins when they died which despawn in a few seconds but that you have to physically pick up to get [perhaps have them bounce towards the direction they're facing so they enemy team can't hog all the gold without crazy zoning], certainly a completely different mechanic from last hitting [hence not trying to fit it into an existing game], but still forces you to take some risk [approach the wave] to get your reward

indeed, that is a much better idea than passively collecting gold. and that's exactly how it works in Super Monday Night Combat (a third person shooter dota-like game).

blizzard seems to be throwing away a lot of money by making this a sc2 mod instead of making it a stand-alone game, but i suppose they have so much money from WoW that they can afford fun side projects like this

The MTL vs Sypher games earlier today were pretty interesting. Interesting to see what happens if you let a Kog free-farm the entire game, and how useful Taric can be at bot. And how shitty Shaco can be if he doesn't get early kills.
Also Hotshot was playing worse than me on stream today, it was fun to watch (slave morality in action no doubt).

Ziggs looks pretty cool, it appears they delivered on a higher skill-cap champion. Question is, when will he be nerfed when people start getting good at him? the new support items sound pretty good as well: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=1768025though the shield looks pretty weak, hardly enough to block even one spell before AP is taken into consideration. still an okay item though, definitely a must have on any support.
