when I did those calculations I just assumed that the only item he had was bloodrazor. but if you mean my typical build...it's usually something like merc treads/ninja tabi, wit's end, frozen mallet, randuin's omen, qss, guardian angel

99.9% of the time I usually only get to randuin's omen or qss (prioritize those depending on what I need). but if I ever fill up with 6 items I would sell wit's end for bloodrazor. this is my generic tanky dps jungler build, obviously favoring on the side of tanky.

I could redo those numbers taking 90mr or whatever into account but it wouldn't make a huge difference to my overall point. and that is bloodrazor is the best single item you can buy for late game damage if you have no other damage items.

edit: I take that back, trinity force is actually stronger if you can make use of that proc. that technically may be the better use of that last slot on champs that can optimally use the proc, but it's really hard to factor that into calculations.

I'd hand it to trinity force as it also gives utility and has a much easier build path

For the math side of things

IE isnt better than Madrids but at least very even with it though it completely depends on a few things such as runes (if you go armor pen/attack speed/flat damage (multipliers of AD etc)) if you are going that tank build I'd say trinity is the "best" though both IE and blood razor have close DPS (one you factor udyrs base at 18)

It's very very close. I say it all comes down to if you got magic pen/taric others on your team, and if the build path is something you can go down.

If you have magic Pen it sweeps IE for sure though

instead lets talk about how shitty manamune is and how dumb people are when they buy it on anyone that isn't blitzcrank. even then it's kinda bad but at least he gets a boost of temporary HP with his passive.

every time I see paul build it on sivir or gangplank or pantheon it makes me sad inside.

That I wont agree on as actually
it's good on olaf (because it's glitched on him and double stacks on casts leading to + 80 damage extremely fast + enough mana to spam Q at the ground on a .5 sec cooldown)
It's good on Yorick because he needs the sustain
It's good on Nunu if going AD nunu (niche I know)
It's good on a top/mid lane urgot.
It's good on panth if he is solo laning and has the CD for it.
It's good on EZ if building a tankier EZ.

Not all these are like optimal, but in niche cases it's a good item.

past a certain point you shouldn't have mana problems on most heroes, so I don't see the point in buying it. you could just not spam your spells all the time and save that 2110g for another item. sounds better to me.

on olaf spamming your Q hurts so bad...and in a large aoe, it's twice as good as a auto attack, perma slows, does large aoe, and literally has a no second cooldown (just the animation of throwing it)

It's also pretty okay on Udyr if you go tiger stance, and need to spam to survive the lane vs high dmaage/harrass tops

Tiamat is also nice on Twitch, since it stacks with his ult. Shoot once in a line, watch everyone die.

Heh, normal elo is shared between 3's and 5's, so my brother who is around 1700-1800 in 3's queued with me in 5's and we got put with almost everyone in the game being 1800+. I just got to 1530 in solo last week heh. We lost.

Talon is super fun. I've even managed to do decent with him.


I don't mind him bot. It's true he starves for the AD carry but if you can utilize his abilities well enough you can tear through bot early and reap the rewards of a roamer.

Top is great though.

As a kayle player, tiamat is pretty useless precisely because you already have the insane aoe steroid. Buying standard AD is more effective, even for teamfights where everyone is clumped up.

The only champions I can see tiamat doing anything worthwhile on are melee fighters that are difficult to kite and have an attack speed buff like Fiora, Yi, and Sion.

No, you misunderstand.

I was asking if the AoE from Tiamat would proc on the AoE from her sword., so that any enemies hit with the sword AoE would also get the Tiamat AoE (like Shyv)

it doesn't apply on-hit effects, so if you have frozen mallet or wit's end something anyone hit by the splash would not be slowed or take any damage from wit's end.

edit2: graphics overhaul is up on the beta client, surprised at how good it looks. lane creeps are retextured and all the neutrals have new models/animations/textures. the colors are nice, which was my main gripe about LoL before. Ashe's new model is really good though it's less of a change than gangplank's was. once all the older models are updated the game will finally look somewhat decent.
