Where...the Hell... is my Last Guardian launch date? I cannot say that I am satisfied.

Sony did a pretty good job with their keynote, despite the late start, and lack of showmanship. I liked a lot of the content I was seeing, and the PSVita price announcement was a huge coup.

Nintendo has their work cut out for them tomorrow.

while i can agree with that on ps vita, ps move hasnt really shown anything innovative and that fleshed out. kinect is leagues ahead of it

Wii > Move > Kinect, because the more advanced the motion controls are the more completely retarded I feel when I am playing the game. They actually manage to take away from the immersion, as opposed to adding to it. But at least the games are now more "accessible," right?!

Also amazingly that GIF is still good after all this time. And completely relevant too.

I've always felt that Move had the edge because it actually lets you point at the screen. (while the best that Kinect can handle is you waving your hand in front of the screen) I felt that some of the Move content they had on hand was pretty strong. They weren't quite as focused on it as Microsoft was on Kinect. (and integrating Kinect into everything) But then I don't necessarily want motion controls integrated into everything.

it is impractical to do certain things on the kinect. certain things like "move" or "aim". also its connected to an xbox 360. see if you can spot where things fall apart here.

all we need are games where you do not move or aim. a tree simulator, for instance. you're the tree

Navigation, action and looking are primary category of interaction ... motion control alone fail to one or two of the most important but excel at the third. Navigation suffer the most as it's crucial to many generic game (look at all those rail guided game), looking is less critical and action reap all the strength (point and click for most) but is a bit laggy in timing as gesture is a fuzzy things.

Also nintendo already made most contribution in term of ergonomy in both touch and motion. We only wait for nintendo to make a full featured game (skyward?) instead of lot of prototype turned in (polished) mini games.

also bioshock infinite = triple A artgames

A few years ago it was
Microsoft: We've made our last console much more powerful!
Sony: Me too!
Nintendo: We're doing motion controls!
Sony: ...me too!

If the Nintendo rumors are true, then this year is
Microsoft: Hay guys, check it out!  Motion controls!
Sony: Me too!
Nintendo: Well, that was stupid.  We're cutting back on motion controls, switching back to a more traditional controller, and sticking a screen on it instead, and see where this goes.

I thought the Cafe still had motion controls? How else would it play Wii games?

Actually I think that the "pointing" feature is the most interesting part of motion control and is a really step up from classic control as it had depth, pose more than gesture also add a layer of non ambiguous information we can take adventage, 1to1 motion envy is where thing became silly (ghost recon gameplay showcase Facepalm )

They could also leverage motion control (especially kinect) for social NPC interaction, but most game are about killing that's pointless now.

If Sony and Microsoft want to win the next round of consoles, develop force feedback. That's the next innovation in game design. Everything else is just window dressing.
