If it's your first time to IRC, it takes a little getting used to. Things are a bit wild. But that's why it's great. I think painting a broad stroke of everyone in IRC being "trolls, bitter losers, or douchebags" is insanely inaccurate.
Basically, if you find yourself getting upset at IRC, do the following:
1.) Step back, maybe do something else to calm down
2.) Grow a thicker skin
If the Internet is the wild west, IRC is like the saloon where barroom brawls and duels are commonplace. It's rough and tumble, but overall a great place to be.

Heh, almost everytime I check, it seems, irc allen and someone else are bickering about something  Still there is some interesting stuff once in a while. Should probably be a bit more active there. |

No one on IRC is bad-hearted. You just have to get a feel for how people act. Don't come expecting much serious game discussion though. It happens occasionally, but only occasionally.

allen is pretty mean but other than that i dont think there is any big troublemakers maybe if bobo decides to argue with like Rinkuhero or something but he is not really dangerous despite claiming mastery of blades

To elaborate, it seems great during the evening like 5:00pm - 10:00pm, but then a bunch of trolls log on and turn it to shit. I don't even understand why they go there. They don't post here on the forums and they obviously don't care much for indie games.
Late nights are where it's at. Just turn up your pointlessness filters. |
