Try and keep it as constructive as possible, can't work much with "Thats stupid, get off the internet" Tongue

Thanks in advanced!

So sad.  Melancholy.  Self-deprecating.
Get off the internet.

Or go here. Your first link cops an error.  Songs are okay; I listen similar work.

Sometimes the simplest pieces can be the most divine. There's certainly an air of light elegance about the songs, although a few make me wonder what a driving percussion would do with/for them. First Contact first took off when the drum beats came into play, and between that and your other work, it makes me think you could make some amazing, ear-blowing stuff if you mixed the techno/percussion in with the classical; almost like a futuristic sci-fi Renaissance.

If that's not distinctive, what would be?

I like that "Just a song that won't get heard"..I can hear this in an RPG game

The second one "Just a song" is awesome , when it started off sounded like kingdom hearts, those drums are epic. Like that fanfare, battle-theme feel too

very nice work

Check out some of my work also

OK, so here's the thing. Your tracks are compositionally solid. Very much so, in fact. However, somehow something got messed up in the translation, and everything just ends up feeling lifeless and mechanical.

A good example can be found in your latest "Just a song". At the core, it's an absolutely beautiful solo piano piece, to the point where I'm almost considering asking you for the sheet music. However, the problem with solo piano music is that the performer's interpretation of the piece is just as important as the notes on the staff paper themselves. And simply writing these notes into a DAW, with relatively constant velocity and tempo and note off points, just won't cut it.

In fact, the same holds true for most classical/orchestral music in general. This "human element" to the orchestration is one of the most difficult things to program in, yet it in itself is the sole driving factor of these genres. Funny how that works out...

Anyway, sorry about the above, and I hope I didn't offend. All things aside, you're putting out some really great stuff here, and you definitely have potential in this field. I'm just hard on the ones I love. :-)

I totally agree. I wish that I could get someone to play out a few of my solo piano pieces (I have quite the collection now, I am in love with writing for it) just so I can see how other people interoperate it. I do have articulation on the paper, and when I wrote it I could hear every last note as I wrote it out. But programs like Sibelius etc etc just don't display the emotion that a real pianist would.

I have taken this comment on a bit actually, and scored an original that I've writen into Fruityloops to get some epic beats going, and I am having a bit of fun with it! I'm also working on butchering Morrowinds theme, a game I love, although I don't think I'll put it up, Jeremy Soule did such an amazing job writing it the way it was. Tongue

I LOVE IT.

Judging from titles like "Just a song" and "Example five" I expected complete and utter shit, but this is marvellous! WTF
If I ever manage to finish a game that is worth playing, I'd sell my soul to have you make the soundtrack.

Ahahaa, I have other names for them, I just found them a little embarrassing to title them, since their close to the heart Tongue
And I'd be glad to write anything for you in the future Smiley

Yeah I'm working on a few more electronic tracks, but yeah, I'm not as interested in that as I am in classical, funny how that goes Tongue
