re: naked lunch: i think cronenberg deserves some kudos for attempting a movie adaption of a book thats basically unfilmable and making something pretty good out of it. book is way better tho.

Just watched "Captain Phillips" Very good movie! If you watch it backwards it's about a guy who goes to sea to live with Pirates, and eventually convinces them all to go home.

Is it at least as good as A Hijacking?

Yup pretty much.
I was geeked to see him doing modern stuff when he was in Dexter season 5. So he doesn't always have to be that damned robot cop to everybody. He was pretty creepy in that season of Dexter.

Only God Forgives is even better (for me at least) Only God Forgives is definitely great, too bad, a lot of people compare it to Drive, and they got a disappointment when they realise it has nothing to do with it, because they expected it to be Drive 2. Btw, there's Drive 2 in book format, made by the original writer, and there's a chance that Refn will continue the movie with a follow up movie... Just saying.

Only God Forgives is a much better movie than Drive. I watched it first, and then found Drive rather disappointing. Drive is just Le Samourai with more techno.

I think one of the good things about it is the "techno" (and by that I mean the visuals and the soundtrack), but I'll check Le Samourai out too.

Did you know that Keanu Reeves is now a director? It looks real bad, but I'm curious.... anyone seen it? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2016940/

most movies of the 70s are totally shit. All the cinema of the 70s can be summed up to: "Ugly hairy people screaming and behaving like mad. At least one naked-ass shot." Star wars is actually one of the very few watchable 70s movies
