the tension and mood of that film is timeless.

I watched The Master recently, but ultimately it disappointed me in it's ponderousness and needlessly enigmatic cast of characters.

I loved The Master. Joaquin Phoenix was really scary and disturbing in his role, his character was so unpredictable.
yeah the master was pretty great. i didn't know much about the movie before i saw it and tbh i went in expecting an l ron hubbard biopic w/ the usual "rise and fall" plot. but what i got was something much better.

Watching Holy Motors at the moment. I can understand why it has divided opinion but I'm really enjoying it.

I've been watching Vikings, it's quite enjoyable. Probably 4/5 stars so far, it helps with the wait for Game of Thrones.

The videos on their website alone were enough to get me hooked.

A little while ago, I watched "Paul Williams Still Alive". As soon as I found out he was the writer behind the "Rainbow Connection", I couldn't stop watching and was already quite intrigued with the film because of the approach and by how much it had shown me of Paul Williams as a 70's icon before it informed me of that. Since he is in the film most of the time, the director did a good job of presenting a well formed portrait of the man.

Ichi the Killer is basically one of the most fucked up thing I have ever seen. Not necessarily because of the gore.

On the topic of messed up, I watched A Serbian Film. Surprisingly good production quality for what I thought was a B-film. The yucky stuff wasn't that traumatising, except for the child-rape bits which made me cringe pretty hard.

Vikings is pretty good...not amazing. Love Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha) on that show though. It's been a good diversion while waiting for Game of Thrones.

Visitor Q is one pretty nutty ride.  Have you seen alot of Miike's films???  He did a pretty decent one shot show in a series on Showtime/HBO(?) called Masters of Horror.
