And now you learn that awesomeness is a double-edged sword. Wielding it requires much responsability: you never know how deep it'll penetrate your public. Of course, you can paliate to the fact that the game wasn't ready for the compo by starting a thread about it and posting screen shots on a weekly basis along with the project development status. Cool

Bah, I always start a thread when I try. Sometimes the path trying to succeed is just as important as actually finishing. Smiley That and this is my first contest I actually got something I could enter (though I still want to finish my 4E* entries).

Haha, I'm not mad at all, I'm just teasing you guys! I thought you'd get it. Cry

I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, it wasn't my intent.  Beer!

Like everyone else I think the game looks awesome, and I hope you guys finish it!

Don't worry, no hard feelings here Smiley I was mostly just unhappy with the article in general.

Eh, please bring the article back up, I rather liked it :-)

Ditch the baby, keep the bathwater, got it!

(I mean - fair enough, guess the damage is already done anyway...)

Em, I just reread it and I think it might have come across kinda overly critical in places... Embarrassed I'd just like to say that I didn't mean it that way, was a bit sleep deprived when I wrote it but my intention was just to give positive, useful feedback in as many cases as I could. I think all the games are great Smiley I'm very proud of you all!

 Beer!

BE CRITICAL, MAN.  Its the only way I'm going to get anywhere in improving my games!  Beer!

Yeah, don't be afraid of giving out constructive criticism (and your crits seemed pretty constructive, Terry Smiley).  Maybe you'll hurt a little ego (probably had it coming anyway), but most likely you'll help someone improve, so their next game will be that much closer to a true masterpiece.  Crits are good! Beer!

I'll agree. I want all comments, positive or negative, but don't bring in my heritage. I get it a lot with writing, either no comments or "I don't want to hurt your feelings", but really the only way to grow and improve is to get knocked down, kicked in the groin, and then helped back up. Smiley

Thanks, but I feel like I should reiterate that I wasn't trying to trash people's games or hurt people's feelings when I wrote that writeup - in fact, the reason I took it down was mostly because I was worried that there was a possibility that I might have inadvertently done so Sad

Thanks, anyway, glad people seem to have gotten something out of it Smiley

I just noticed that Love Crusader is on there. You have made a terrible mistake!

Oh well, not like anyone voted for it.
