Wow!  Screamy I never knew there were so many unfinished games. Wentworth in particular looks like an awesome Lara Croft-in-Castlevania game. Also, the Cheetahmen sprites by Konjak look epic. A lot of these seem like great interpretations.

*thinks of Konjak action game featuring characters from all other Action 52 remakes*
*head explodes*

Also, Arne was trying to do Megalonia? Figures.

Sorry to be so inactive on my part (French Baker).

However, there is more work done than you have me pegged for. The game's pretty much done, but we never found a spriter so it's just unappealing black boxes running around, which is why there aren't any screenshots. I'm pretty much done with the programming though, except a few bugs and dated mechanics here and there.

Anyway, here's the latest build. Credit where credit is due: Wonderful music is by pgil and the game in general is a collaborative effort of my team, Pentaclam. For controls, look at the readme.

Awesome! I edited your entry, listing it as a "Work in Progress." Not sure how to credit your Pentaclam team though.

This sort of response is what I was hoping for from this thread. I know alot of designers did all of their work behind the scenes and never posted anything, it'd be nice to think Action 52 Owns isn't as inactive as it seems.

Thing is, there's not much else we can do on our part. We've been looking for a spriter, but to no avail, and the one in our team is currently visiting family for a while. If anyone's interested in spriting, I'm sure Glyph and I can dig up the list of sprites we need that we made a few months ago.

I listed you as Dropped, I hope that was right.

Maybe you guys could post that list in the Action 52 Owns thread, giving any potential artist an idea of what you need in order to finish your game.

I know, but I'm not including games that don't have any images, builds or videos posted yet.

@ Glyph/Skyshark
I've been playing French Baker; how many levels are in this? I have some feedback but I want to finish it before I say anything. So far I've only been able to reach the Poundcake boss, who killed me almost immediately  Angry

EDIT: Found the demo cheats in Readme and finished French Baker, or atleast I think I did. Is this where the demo ends?

Either way it was fun, really hard too. I enjoyed it but there were a few things that bothered me.

- Why do the levels have to restart when you die? The game is hard enough without forcing the player through the same gauntlet of enemies over and over again. It's incredible tedious, especially in later levels where you have to kill 40-50 enemies while dancing around some obstacle. Better to just respawn without losing any EnemiesKilled progress until you run out of lives. Then, game over.

- When you make a sudden turn at a high speed the Baker momentarily continues to attack in the direction you turned away from. I don't know if this is intentional but I don't like it.

- Eggs that have landed on the ground can kill you even though they're blinking like just spawned enemies, which can not kill you. It's confusing.

- In the level with the giant hunting block (I don't know what it was called, I think it was labeled PC) You should make it clear that the giant block can not be hurt or killed. I tried to hurt and kill it, and I paid for my hubris.

-  Weapon appearances aren't consistent. Sometimes they're plentiful, and sometimes they're sparse. And worse than that is when the weapon you have appears instead of something different.

-  Last one, I'd like to be able to pause the game and also be able to restart it.

That's all my feedback, I hope you guys are able scrounge up an artist. I'm excited to play the final version.

Lazer League is pretty finished? The game 'ends' with an endless wave of increasingly difficult waves of enemies after the second boss.

I think I'm done with it.

My bad, you didn't outright say you were done and your HUD looks like a placeholder graphic so I just assumed you were still working on it. I removed Lazer League from the list.

@King Hadas:
A lot of the stuff in FB would be fixed with graphics helping visually explain what's happening, and once you beat the donut boss that's it. I agree with you on the level restarting, item spawning, attack direction, and pausing/restarting things, they're just things I had yet to get around to changing. I'll continue work on it, and hope for a spriter sometime soon.

This thread makes me so sad. And a little confused. I know game development is really, really, really hard, I've tried it, but how do so many people get halfway through production and then quit?

We all have other projects and/or jobs to think about. Projects which are more or less a joke game are first against the wall when something more interesting or important comes along.

For my part, I'd call Haunted Halls/Hills/whatever more 'on hold'. I never really drop anything (I just switch between working on four or five things at a time haphazardly).

I changed your status. I'm glad to hear you haven't completely dropped Haunted SomethingorWhatever of Wentworth since what I've seen looks excellent.

Is there a possibility to contact Arne or Konjack for a collab with shared profits?

I highly doubt it. Konjak, at least, is busy working on The Iconoclasts, and AFAIK, he can both program and do pixel art extremely well. Also, anything that takes away time from him finishing the Iconoclasts is baaad!  Cheesy
