seriously though, there's no problem with boys watching the pony show. there's a serious lack of well written shows aimed at young girls and its great that this one is picking up a universal audience. the problem, and what makes it so gross, is people obsessing over it, demanding that the show pander to the 30 year old males who obsess over it (you know, sort of ruining the whole "positive show aimed at young girls" deal), and basing their identity off of a kids cartoon. massive amounts of people dont base their identities off thundercats, no matter how much they liked it. some people take it too far, but its still just a thing they like. even notoriously gross and excessive fandoms (redundant) like sonic the hedgehog dont call themselves "hedgehoggers" or whatever the fuck.

Eh, I haven't really seen any serious demanding from the fans and I'm pretty sure people working in the business already are used to having people send strange mail to them.

As I've also said before, there's nothing actually wrong with obsessing over it as long as it doesn't cause harm to others. You don't have to accept these people, it's quite enough if you just tolerate them and let them go on with their business and then warn, kick and/or ban if anyone steps over the rules in a forum/chat/etc.

There's a lot of gross things in the world and I'm okay that, plus it's usually a matter of perspective. What's abnormal, uncommon or frowned upon by others tends to be shift from person to person.

I'm not trying to get you to change your opinion about these kinds of people of course, just my personal opinion on the subject.

I do too think it's sweet that there's a well written "girly" show that all genders can appreciate. If there's something that the male gender needs, it's some positive look on feelings and some lighter colors. There's a reason why females tend to be much more social and have no problem with hugging each other unlike men do, and I'm pretty sure it all starts with your childhood.

Girls get dolls that encourage talking and social interaction and guys gets weapons, cars and action figures (Which can be considered a "Doll" but the intention of it isn't exactly social interaction). I'm sure genetic differences plays a role too but I think the way we're raised plays the biggest part in this.

seriously, anytime a show or game or book develops a ""fan-dom"" it will inevitably be this weird, gross group of manchildren obsessing over something that really isnt worth obsessing over. and i dont mean "cute" obsessing like having a buffy poster and t-shirt and occasionally going through the whole box set, i mean gross obsessing where they make pony onaholes and base their entire fucking lives around a 2 season long childrens' cartoon. it happened with sonic, it happened with homestuck, it happened big time with ponies. the reason it is so much worse with mlp is that the show is literally aimed at young girls, and young children really do need more non-violent alternatives in well-written kids cartoons. too bad that from now until the end of time, all anyone will ever be able to think about this show, regardless of how good or well written it is, is how many grown-ass adults retroactively decided they want to fuck underage cartoon ponies.

Also, I doubt that is what people will remember, not everyone lurks on the internet like you and me.

It really depends on how much the haters obsesses over the fandom rather than how much the fans obsess over it. I mean, do you know how much porn there exists of Adventure time? Spongebob? I know that Bronies are seen everywhere, but it's not like there's many flaunting their fetishes to everyone, there's not many people that are.

Instead we have people that are like "OH THEY ARE SO GROSS, LET'S POST THESE PORN PICTURES AND STUFF SO I CAN LET OTHERS KNOW ABOUT IT". I think that the only time you'll accidentally come across MLP porn is if you search for something MLP related, though even then it is only specific things.

Of course, there'll always be fans that get overbearing to others to contribute to the hate as well, though I've never actually have that happen to me for some reason, nor seen it happen, I just hear that it happens like some strange hitchhiker tale, despite not having a Brony avatar or name in general. I'm guessing it's people having one friend do it and possibly ignore the fact that they might have 572 other friends that are bronies.

you're kinda making my point for me. john lennon WAS murdered by an obsessed fan. thats fucked up. thats what happens when people get too obsessed with shit. there's nothing wrong with liking stuff, but when it goes too far (and i would say basing your identity off of a kids cartoon is way too far), you are limiting yourself and you might end up doing crazy shit.
