Rearden Companies patents new wireless tech

Rearden Companies, a start-up technology company founded by Steve Perlman, (of OnLive fame) recently presented a new form of wireless technology that they have patented. This new type of wireless network technology supposedly bypasses a lot of the limits that previously restrained wireless networks. This new tech would make it possible to create networks with much, much smaller nodes. (as opposed to the current cell towers in use) It would also provide much faster transmission speeds. Perhaps most significantly, this technology would eliminate bandwidth restrictions for individual users.

If they are able to achieve even a quarter of what they claim, we might see this new technology replacing cell networks for wireless communications in the coming decade. It also makes more sense why OnLive is pushing forward. The technology Rearden Companies is developing would essentially eliminate the bottlenecks that OnLive currently has to contend with.
