This is basically "Strip Mining: The Game", but I love it nonetheless.

After I beat it a couple times I started trying some fancy shit. I made Metroid-looking buildings out of platforms and the tractor beam things, and also made THIS:



The thing below my character is a little thing I tried to make, basically the minerals flicker and bounce around and it looks really great. Not sure what to call it. If you want to try making it you have to first have all full columns of the tractor beam and platforms, shoot some minerals up in there and they'll start bouncing around at the top, get rid of the third or fourth row, rinse and repeat. Makes an excellent cosmetic upgrade to your rig.

Unfortunately this was lost forever when I accidentally entered the exit door. Maybe I'll make a bigger one.

Okay guys, I somehow got a simple sprite-viewer coded for the .sprite and .layer files this game uses. Not sure where I'm going with it though... Could write a sprite editor and a layer editor probably... Or a procedural generator for layers...

How do I use the vacuum teleporter?

Press V to switch to Vacuum and X to switch back.
If you're near the Vacuum Teleporter when pressing X, everything you collected spews out of it.

Yeah, that was my first thought too.   Didn't stop me from playing it for two hours straight though.

Anyone else have problems with loading a game and upgrades no longer being applied?

Any game I save after buying the "water+lava resist" upgrade seems to discard the upgrade after I reload.  I can't buy it again though.

Anyone know if the developer is continuing work on it?  I know it was for DigiPen so I assumed it was finished.

Place it over a conveyor belt, suck up minerals with your vacuum, when you eject them they'll come out of the vac pak if you're in range (you can tell by his blinking antenna) instead of your vacuum.
