Heads up! New updates will be posted on the Dev Logs board under Crystal Castle... If a mod catches this post you can delete it (I can't seem to) Durr...?

New Game, First Screenshots!

Title: Crystal Castle
Developer: Levels or Lives (Maxwell Jensen)
Platform: PC (and Mac?)
Genre: 2D > Action > Platformer
Completion: 25%

Yeah! A new game!

Crystal Castle mixes action platforming with roguelike exploration and RPG elements. The conceptual design was started way back in April while the full-time development schedule began in June.

The capture above (more at my site) is taken from the trailer build that I’m planning on using as a Kickstarter presentation in the near future. If the funding is successful then I’ll be in the market for a whizbang programmer and a wicked awesome musician.

That’s all for now.

Looks nice, though I'd recommend saving the images in PNG format rather than JPG. 'Cause JPG is a sin!

You know when you scale up in Photoshop you can just select "nearest neighbour" to prevent the blurriness?

On the rez issue: I overlooked that one for some reason... If you check out my 1991 version Shadow of the Colossus (at the development blog) you can see I was paying attention...  Thanks for the advice though. I'll apply them on the next update.

On the copyright issue: I'm not too worried about that right now. If it really came down to some kind of dispute with a bands name I could change the title... Say, Crystal Strongly Fortified, Permanently Garrisoned Stronghold.

Aaand updates: Soon enough! I'm working hard on this one... Still have a few weeks left on the initial build.

Thanks all ya'll!  Beer!

Ah, good old Crystal Castles. I was playing that a few months ago at Barcade in Brooklyn... Love that trackball!
