Apparently it's a flash game, so I have no hopes for any changes in that regard, but I hope they can make it better somehow. Playing it in a small window isn't nearly as nice as playing fullscreen.

esc -> options -> change quality to low (only while in game?)

helps a lot but it looks like it doesnt save the setting if you close the game

I've found all 47 secrets now, working on getting all the items (at 101 or 102 out of 120). The last item should help with that a but but I won't spoil it for anyone who actually does want to beat the game 10 times then beat it again with the hardmode character themselves.

(I'm currently at 5 wins in a row in the game too, once you get good at dodging shots the random chance of getting good items start to not matter so much)

Even then it doesn't run at full speed all of the time. Actually I'm currently playing it in a small window and on low details, and only like this can I play it without slowdown. Oh well, it's bearable. But, really? My PC isn't that bad.

I've also found that Isaac isn't that hard. It's very challenging, but so far out of maybe 6 or 7 plays most went pretty well. As cool as those "devil items" are which you sacrifice hearts for, I seem to be doing much better with more life instead of those abilities.

First time I played it, I had so many good items. Started right off with the item that give you triple shot, ended up getting a battery, range up, and charge shots later. Had a dead cat that gave me a bunch of lives. But, then I had to go to work and assumed it wouldn't save so I left the game on, except Steam started updating random games and somehow filled my hard drive until it somehow crashed the game in the process.
Next playthrough, horrible and grueling. Aside from range increasers and fire speed, had no real upgrades. An absence of keys left me with about 2 floors of no items what so ever. Made it to mom, but died horribly.

the cardinal-direction-shooting-centric combat reminds me more of Guardian Legend than Legend of Zelda.

yeah, from the videos the game seems a lot more faster-paced than zelda, almost like smash tv or the indie game legend

finally beat mom. felt good, I was really lucky that game and got really strong early on.

the best performance for me is to keep it on high and run it 640x480 fullscreen. lags occasionally but it's never unplayable. doesn't look as good as the other modes but when I sit back with my controller it's fine. though I do hope they do something about the performance.

Why is this piece of shit game running so slow?  My machine should eat it for breakfast.

Please don't buy this game, it is broken.

I've settled for playing it fullscreen at 640x480 at low details. It's not all that pretty anymore, but it's very bearable, doesn't lag much at all on my computer, and it's no less fun.

I must that it doesn't feel as awesome as the super fast paced Super Meat Boy did back in the day.

Does a game released 10 months ago qualify as "back in the day"?
 Undecided

Well, this was obviously said in an ironic fashion =)

anyway, the game's fun, the devil goat is cool. Haven't played too much yet, I suck balls at this and never reached the end yet

Been playing it a bit, and I can vouch for its quality. Its disturbing, depressing, and lighthearted and full of potty humor. Pretty much exactly Edmund's style.

Not exactly rouge like. More like rouge-like-like. It is a flash game but Edmund recently put out a patch to fix the saving issues flash has with browser privacy settings and whatnot. Addicting as hell nonetheless, and compelling even after many many plays.

Don't go expecting meat boy levels of polish and you'll have a good time.

Having fun with it so far; cleared the game 3 times now (with each of the unlockable characters). I'll probably do the full 10 playthroughs at least, and if I'm close to all of the items at that point I'll go for full completion.

I hate that you can't minimize it and that you can't quick save for picking it up again later. And I think to include an achievement for 'beat the full game without taking damage' is beyond ridiculous considering there are some rooms where you can't help but take damage unless you can stun the enemies or fly. As mentioned above, the hit detection is funny at times and it's hard to exactly gauge where a bomb or shot is going to land.

Does anyone know of a way to port your save file over to another computer? I want to be able to play on my laptop on the way to work, but want to continue working on the save file from my main PC and transfer it back and forth. Something with serial.txt in the steam appdata?

Without meaning to brag, I've got to say the game becomes a bit too easy once you're experienced at dodging and aiming, in my opinion. Luckily, the "reward" for completing it 6 times comes at just the right time Smiley That's nicely designed!

Oh, and the Fetus in a Jar is so cool :D

I haven't looked, but I guess there really should be a save file somewhere.

I haven't been able to play too much, but I'm really liking this game so far. I think I'm pretty bad at it though, because I haven't been able to get very far. I haven't even come close to finishing the game or unlocking anything yet. I guess I need to practice video games more.

It's a fun game to just pick up and play a quick round during coding breaks.
