try actually playing the game and see if it feels that way or if it feels like an important part of the laning phase
theres a reason they cant seem to keep laning in lol from becoming a passive farmfest
and if you seriously feel like hitting the a button once and clicking is 'micromanagement' maybe competitive video games arent the right hobby for you
Parody version: try actually playing the game (LoL) and see if it feels that way or if it feels like they removed obtuse mechanics that were there as much for pros to go "LOL im better than u" as to actually be a part of the game
theres a reason they cant seem to keep all of dota from being a passive farm fest
and if you seriously feel like removing superfluous mechanics ruins the game and makes it a 'babby game hit the a button' then maybe streamlined games arent the right type of game for you
(Just keep in mind that your post came off much the same way when responding) I have tried dota 2, as well as spent most of a year in another moba with denying. It's a clunky mechanic that is basically an ascended bug (I think anyway) from the original dota. Moreover, it very much encourages passive play via denying as much as possible so you don't have to push out much past your tower. Of course it's an important part of the laning phase. It was designed that way (whether forced to because of a bug or chosen to be implemented), and LoL more than proves that a MOBA can be made without it. (btw, competitive video games don't have to be a contest of how quickly you can order a stream of button presses into a meaningful command sequence; look at [insert strategy game here that isn't starcraft]). And it's not hitting the a button once and clicking; it flat out doubles the last-hitting load, and half of that lasthitting load costs extra command time to do.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/7443/badtinker.jpgPlaying with TIGS dudes is like 80% loss chance, but I'm having fun anyway. I'd rather play with bads than people who flame/troll/afk/etc Also I'm glad you guys can usually hear what I'm saying despite my awful Swedish accent. poor nillo 500 gpm in a losing match and against a megafed bloodseeker too ps 0 denies drow this isnt league of babby game hit the a button one of my denies is from throwing toucan as tiny. i got a kill AND denied toucan at the same time so pro

pretty meaningful that you literally couldnt think of one there champ' you basically described what a dynamic competitive game is and then said oh! it doesnt need to be that it could be thing i couldnt think of because it doesnt exist instead also a parody is actually supposed to be funny or clever but i guess if we can have competitive team based games without skill we can have parody without wit

Does anyone have an extra invite? (only give it to me if you genuinely have no one else to invite) I'm starting to think maybe I should have lied about how much I played DotA on the survey

I'm not saying that LoL is for stupid people, but it's definitely a lot more forgiving about player mistakes than Dota is. You can't lose gold from dying in League, but you can in Dota. The respawn timers are also pretty brutal at high levels so if someone gets killed carelessly during a lategame push it can easily cost you the game.
I like denies, because they make the laning phase less boring. Last hits also make the game less boring. It is something to do in the lane, something that tests your skill. Would some players prefer if everyone automatically received gold whenever a nearby creep died? Perhaps... but it would definitely be more passive and less based on skill.

Well, maybe the creep part of laning would be more passive, but you'll note that League of Legends laning is a lot more about the harassment/pokes between the laning players, which IMO is more interesting. After all, i joined the game to play vs a bunch of people, not enter a farmfest for 15 minutes before having enough levels and equipment to play vs a bunch of people I think it would actually be cool if people didn't have to worry about lasthitting and then more tools were given to explicitly control creep advancement so it would be a more strategic pushing/pullback game based on when you see junglers gank or when the enemy retreats from the lane, etc.

i wish there was some sort of button you could use, like in lol, to center the camera around your hero. also, the shop system is a bit obfuscated. but still, i'm enjoying the game so far.

because civ is a great multiplayer teambased competitive game that you play in real time and wow im just going to stop there because you must just be trolling. i dont have any time for trolls try again fartsocks try again Neither do I, you never specified that it had to be real time. Actually, no, you mumbled something about it once but didn't make that clear. Also, you did a great job ignoring my other two games Protip: if you don't want to look like a troll, actually respond to everything and not just the parts you can turn around to your favor by mangling... this is the exact opposite of truth i mean you dont even know what you are talking about bottom lane in lol has been a support and a carry farming for the first 20 minutes for months now top lane is some sort of tanky dps that just farms and doesnt even need support or to go back to the fountain because they all have retarded strong sustain mid lane is the only lane where you actually acknowledge the other player in league of legends the developers of the game know this the players know this somehow you dont
It's better than Dota, where the first 20-30+ minutes consists solely of a deny/lasthit contest with the occasional gank or such. Really, you think you can win this argument when DotA is literally all about lasthitting and denying for a good chunk of the game? This is ofcourse to say nothing of the fact that heroes are hard to pick out from the terrain and such compared to other MOBAs, the shop is extremely clunky, the items and skills are outdated (y u no scale almost any skills dota? Whats with these "couriers" and "town portal scrolls"?), and the UI is suffocatingly big. All that is what I don't like about it though. I'd be very happy if Dota 2 changed these conventions, but if they don't, fine, I'm not gonna insult it then rage at anyone who dares to question me. I think ill be done replying to imtrolltoday for now.
