found a group of 20 something losers like myself to play with (because you jerks don't even want me and my 192 wins sobsobsob) we just roll 2 or 3 deep and pick up any pubs that are good and boy howdy are we on a winning streak it helps that I just turned in my last final today so I have no reason to fall asleep at a reasonable hour

Now I've won 5 games in a row with tinker, and I carried hard in all of them.

He's also the most losing, but I think we've beaten that topic to death by now. Let's hope for some Alchemist buffs in future patches, specifically in the armor department.

I think what Alchemist really needs is to make it so the stun can be thrown at a creep. The champion limitation means he stuns himself far more often than he stuns others.

Dunno. I kind of like the risk/reward mechanic of his stun, even if it's weak compared to other skills. Perhaps the numbers just need to be tweaked a bit, like increasing the minimum stun time or making the mana cost scale per level (like starting it at 90 mana, and having the 120 mana cost only when it's level 4). If the minimum stun mattered, it would be a lot less risky to use. I agree it would make sense to be able to throw it at any hostile target though.
It may also be true that Alchemist just won't fit in the current pushing metagame. He is one of the most farm and item-dependent heroes, so enemies like Rhasta and Furion can mess him up by forcing him to participate in teamfights earlier than he would like to. Spectre has also been unpopular in competitive play for the same reason (both of them need their Radiance to be able to do anything).

I always thought Alch's acid spray should scale based on strength. so at a certain point you could farm with it by spraying neutrals and walking away and quickly building your farm.

That would be almost as inexplicable as the fact that Ogre Magi hits harder the smarter he becomes.

I like the risk/reward mechanic, but I feel like making it champion-only makes it all risk, no reward. In an average game with an Alchemist, I see him stun himself like 20 times and land a stun like 6 or 7. Also, I think removing the timer above his head during the countdown would increase the risk, since you'd have to actually know the time instead of just watching a little timer countdown to self-stun.

The enemy team shouldn't be able to see the timer, at least
(also they're heroes, but heroes versus champion is just a bit of pedantry)
The stun isn't good for initiating unless you have a blink dagger, you get more use out of it if you can get it off in a teamfight, preferably chainstunning after another has run out. I've seen a handful of alchs start charging it and run at an enemy hero to initiate and they just run away, alch damages and stuns himself, then they turn his butthole into a playplace

like increasing the minimum stun
Remember that this also means longer self-stun if you mess up. Not leveling the stun higher than 1 can be viable if you only want it to protect yourself and not risk getting stunned longer.
