on topic to follow you guys and you weird unorthodox strategies i have started jungling as skeleton king

while it only gives me about half creepscore as Lycan it can still get me midas + armlet before 20 (unless i get ganked a few times hhaha)

i dont think i need to explain to you guys what happens when skeleking is fed eheheh

obviously you go for lifesteal aura first, then i usually do 2 crits 1 hellfire

its not very good for ganks unless the lane can also cc / damage since you dont have a lot of points in hellfire

start at small camp then do back and forth with mediums, satyr camps are lucky, wolves are scary, centaurs dangerous

you can stack non scary camps

as soon as you have enough $$ for a attack speed glove get it with courier or side shop
then buy a midas

then another speed glove then helm of being cool
then finish armlet
then if its under 20 mins you win the game

lifesteal is bad why are you getting it to start. crit and stats are the best jungle points for skele. get one point in hellfire for ganks. get lifesteal at normal time (somewhere around 7-9).

this may sound dumb and i havent tested it myself but i think in the jungle it might be more effective to spend all your gold when you get low and get killed fighting a neutral when you jungle because it is faster/cheaper than returning and healing

im not 100% sure but ive heard it before

pub teammates would probably go apeshit though, viewers on a stream i was watching wanted this pro circut es disqualified for buying a bunch of soul ring recipies but they never bothered to consider why he was doing it

you don't need lifesteal to jungle. in fact, you're better off getting something that drastically increases your damage output.

let's do a little shitty math here that is just bullshit because i don't really know if you could consider it this way OKAY OKAY GOOD

15% of 55atk = 8.25
8.25/568 = 1.4% hp per hit

125% of 55atk = 68.75, or 13.75+atk
15% of the time

you are going to be dealing more damage, and thus taking less (because you kill guys faster). at the very least get it first and lifesteal second.

Skeleton King's skills scale rather oddly. Just one level in Vampiric Aura will give you 15% of the lifesteal, while maxing it provides at most 30% lifesteal. On the other hand, the Critical Strike starts off poor and goes really high:

1. 15% chance to do 25% bonus damage (3% extra DPS)
2. 15% chance to do 75% bonus damage (11,25% extra DPS)
3. 15% chance to do 125% bonus damage (18,75% extra DPS)
4. 15% chance to do 175% bonus damage (26,25% extra DPS)

As you can see, most of the benefit of Vampiric Aura is gained at level one, while level one Critical Strike is almost worthless. This means you should get the first level of Vampiric Aura before level one Critical Strike, but Critical Strike should be maxed before Vampiric Aura.

also, at least on jungle creeps, crit strike hits for 90 with quelling blade.

edit: idk, do what you want. i think vamp aura is pretty bad until you at least dump points into stats or get some item to help your damage more, like speed gloves or belt

you still didnt tell me at what minute you get the equivalent of armlet + midas (complete boots + armlet?)

on a good run i get them at around 16-17, always before 20 if i didnt die



you also didnt tell me how you stay alive. tangos? ring of health? or are you just talking out your ass


dota_mtdew i never need to return to the base as skeleton king jungling!! that does seem like an okay strat but walking back to the jungle does take about 30 secs.


but yeah dragonmaw i guess you're right you dont need lifesteal, thats why you build vlads first item on lycan and that lifestealer (whoops) and bloodseeker(idk why he aint popular) are good junglers (among those that cant make creeps tank of course)

i guess axe and darkseer do enough aoe damage with no built in heal but thats pretty much it no??

just tried it and while i forgot to buy a courier i was super low muuuuch faster. how many health regen items do you actually buy


edit - tried again with courier this time, died to a KOBOLD camp before he could get to me

how many small camps do you have to do with this shit, i never pull or do more than 2 small camps (sometimes only 1) with this...
