Finally starting to win some games and last hit adequately. Last hitting is WAY harder in DOTA2 than LoL but way more satisfying when you do last hit.
Quelling blade makes it easier if you really need the money quickly Is it a fair assesment to say quelling blad id DOTA's answer to Doran's blade (good early boost, upgrades into nothing) I got it on skeleton king and it was very noticable I've been looking for LoL to DOTA2 guides. So far I havent found anything that goes beyond the painfully obvious points.

More like Doran's blade is LoL's answer to quelling blade (or whatever the dota 1 equivalent is). I don't think doran's blade is limited to creeps though, is it? I also came from LoL and I'll say that the more you play dota the more you see how much LoL takes from it. I don't just mean main gameplay mechanics. Items and heroes from LoL seem like they were just copy-pasted out of dota.

That's because they where/are, It's so sad that this isn't common knowledge It drives me insane all these people who went strait to playing LoL without ever knowing about DotA I guess the very existence of Dota2 should hopefuly cause LoL players to learn thier history when they play it and say to them selves "Hey, this whole game is a total rip of LoL, but it's a sequel?? maybe this Dota 1 thing existed long before LoL? Hmmm"

heh I noticed that by the 3rd game. I remember saying to myself "Is that Corki?". Saw a few abilities that seemed to have carbon copies in LoL (I'm talking about the more interesting ones, not the standard missle stuff).
I didn't realize quelling blade was creeps only. I'll keep that in mind.

Of course I know it was based on Dota. I didn't realize how direct some of the elements were.

Yeah, I'm not saying the LoL developers are evil for trying to monetise Dota, since, as you say, it does have some of the original dota developers on board, so in a way they are just making a stand-alone version of thier game, the thing that gets me is people just not knowing the history

I spent so much time playing DotA when I was younger.. made it impossible to want to play lol or hon. Then fucking Valve ports the game straight up and makes it a million times cooler. derivatives never stood a chance.

Corki actually came before Gyrocopter.

Quelling Blade is mostly an answer to the difficulty of last hitting as melee, since every last hit will likely be harassed by a ranged enemy hero.

Corki actually came before Gyrocopter. SMH lol i don't know what 'SMH' means but corki was one of the original champions from the LoL beta, and gyrocopter came out in the 6.68 patch. im not trying to say that dota stole the idea from corki, they were both inspired the by the wc3 dwarven gyrocopter model. or at least i think that's how it happened, i could be completely wrong about this

SMH "Shaking my head" as in the one thing I find that seems to be blatantly taken from DOTA in LoL turns out to be the other way around. Just my luck
