By "can not" you mean that in the sense that you've something else to do (e.g. school, etc) or in the sense that you don't feel like working on it?
If it's the former then I don't know, sorry. If it's the later than you should play other games/movies/anything that you think that's related to your game to make you inspired.

I do want to make it, but the myriad amounts of problems I'm having with it plus only being able to work on it a few hours a week is slowly crushing my spirits.

I want to finish it, but every time I start working on it I lose most of my will to do so.

That's an hard one. If the problems are technical maybe you would leave them to fix on the end (unless they are game breaking, in that case a fix is a priority). If the problems are design-wise maybe prototyping new ideas could help.
As for the time I would suggest doing other, less time needed activities that might help you on doing the game. (like practicing drawing or music)

I have a bunch to show, hence the many screenshots and possibility of a demo in the near future. I don't want to smash the entire game into a few weeks worth of development and then release it. That would be the absolute worst.
